he chooses to opt out before the draft for a reason, it's pretty obvious he's going to cleveland so they maybe could trade for a certain player
 
I think it helps, but Wiggins can play with LeBron. Especially early in his career. I see Wiggins as a 2guard in the league like Tracy McGrady if he hits around his full potential. Now he'll be a great defender and a solid floor spacer(better than Wade most likely), a big time threat in transition, a third ball handler, and probably the third scorer any time he's on the court.

With all that said I think it would improve the chances as the Cavs would look for guys that are more established if they can get LeBron back.

I find myself quickly starting to root for this option. I hope LeBron deliver a title to the fans in Cleveland would make a nice story. Though I highly doubt it happens.

You hit the nail on the head. Minnesota would be stupid to pass up the #1 and whatever combo of salary filler for Kevin Love. They aren't getting a better package down the road than a guaranteed #1 in a good draft.
 
I think we're all overanalyzing this. If anything I would think it slightly hurts our chances. If their sights are set on LeBron and he wants to win now, the #1 pick is better used in trade efforts to land a bona fide star, a la Kevin Love. I don't think LeBron would be too jazzed about Derrick Favors if he wants a ring next season.

But, really, I don't think LeBron opting out matters any which way. From what I understand it was a foregone conclusion that he would opt out. I think he's back in Miami with the big three + change. Tough to break up a roster that's made 4 straight Finals.

A roster that stinks?
Waiters and Thompson are solid. So is Varejao who is coming off an injury. They get Favors AND possibly Burks AND add someone like Gordon with the #5 pick. That's a #1 team in the EC.
Wade and Bosh are declining. Miami is dying. LBJ knows that. He and Varejao are BFF's. I think CLeveland has a solid chance of getting LBJ. But they need support players.
What I'd like to see happen is Utah hold their feet to the fire. IF they want Burks in the deal, they don't get the 5th pick. Alec is now a PROVEN scorer: 14 pts on 46%/35% in 28 mins. He's a legit starter. They can have one or the other, but not both assets.
 
He opt out for one reason..... Money..... I bet these last playoffs were a tad hard on him with the cramping and the sore lower back. he wants to make sure he gets 4+ years of 20+ million. 47 million over 2 years is great. but 100 million over 4 or five years is better. and if something happens... ( and if i was a pro player i would always think about my future and what might happen to me, its my livelihood). I think this was the primary driving force.

This is my 2 cents for what it is worth.... Highest bidder with best option to win.

LBJ was angry with Arison about the roster. Sure, they've been to 4 straight Finals. But last year, they needed a SA implosion to win. This season they were wiped off the floor. Miami is trapped. They can add a player with their MLE, but not anything beyond that. LBJ knows he's not going to win another title with Miami. Sign a long-term contract and he gets to preside over a team that fades as Wade and Bosh get older and slower. I think he'd be more than happy to go to a team that has a great YOUNG PG, a very good YOUNG shooting guard, a decent defense-minded BIG who is still improving AND another very good asset from the draft.
