I don't see how our Commander In Chief closing an offshore military prison for terrorists is executive over reach. Please explain.

A law forbidding the transportation of the prisoners onto US soil was passed (I believe it was part of a larger bill that the President could not realistically veto). We don't have any other place for them to go that would be any better.

"Killing" is neutral. "Murder" or "assassination" implies illegality. "Execution" implies legality.

legality is relative.
this whole murder vs killing debate. should be held in another thread then.

imho legal does not equal good.


killing = acceptable/good.
murder = evil/bad.

those imho are absolute.

so basically the president comitted "legal" "taking of another humans life"(but i do disagree on legal part. because he should be impeached on the spot)

So just hold them forever? That's the answer? I do not think they should be brought onto US soil. Just this forever detention is lunacy. I'd be more in favor of killing them.

Are any of them wanted by other governments or groups? I am sure there are more than a few.

My understanding is that most of the prisoners who are wanted have been transferred, as have most of the prisoners who turned out not to have committed any provable offense. The remaining ones are the prisoners no one wants nor will accept. Yes, lunacy is the word.
