look where his hand is. That's some freaky hops for 7'1-7'2 footer... If I'm estimating this correctly, that's about 33-35 vertical jump!!! Wow! That is also considerably higher than what he measured last year at the combine(29 inches). I made a quick research about other bigs(Over 7'1) measurement at combines. Only 1(Jordan Bachynski) has anything comparable - 33 inches.
I'd say more like 30-31 inches. 7'1" is 85 inches, the hoop is at 120 inches. So, had he jumped 35 inches, his head would touch to the rim level. But his head is clearly 4-5 inches shy of that.
Still, his reach is crazy insane.

That's higher than Gobert can reach. From that picture it seems like Gobert is at about 12'4''-12'6

My innitial estimate was not correct it seems(wrong dimensions of the backboard). I'm estimating it by his hand position, cause it is easier to pinpoint without the angle of the camera being an issue. His standing reach is 9'7'', which is 115 inches, his hand reaches just shy of the half the distance between the box and the top of the backboard. The regulation backboards are 105 cm high. 15 of those are under the rim, the box is 45 cm, so we are left with about 55cm above the box. If you take half that's 27.5cm. Or that is 305+45+27.5=377.5cm. That's about 148 inches. 148-115=33. So depending on how much short of the half the distance(between the top of the backboard and the top of the rectangle box) you think he is, it would indeed be somewhere between 30 and 33. I'm leaning more towards the 31-32 range indeed.
BTW when I look at his head, to me it doesn't look 4-5 inches shy, more like 2-3, cause his head is above the bottom of the backboard, but below the rim. That distance is exactly 5 inches.

But I still think it's about 4-5 inches low. Because, as far as I know, that distance is 6 inches(about 15 cm) according to the official NBA dimensions.
Your method is valuable though, to estimate his reach or arm length and all. But for vertical jump I generally just consider a constant point of a player, which the top of the head is the easiest to spot and estimate. Because that means basically, the Height + VJ = where the top of the head is. So if a guy is simply 7'1" which is exactly 85", the top of his head should touch to the rim when he jumps 35".
This simple calculation can also indicate that 50" VJ of Wilt Chamberlain is a bit exaggerated. Wilt was also 85" and with 50 inches vertical leap, top of his head would go up to 135 inches! Which is 15"(38cm!) above the rim. That means not only his whole head but even his shoulders and his upper chest would be over the rim! I've never seen anything close to that in any of his videos or pictures.
Anyway, I think it's around 31" +-1, so I could believe to 32" for Gobert judging from this picture. But he obviously might be able to do better another time. Because max vertical jumps are pretty unstable and Gobert might not have been at his best in that picture.

The bottom of his hand is right at the top of that painted square box. With his overall reach, can't you work out his vertical jump from that?
