College Football Week 1 Thread

Not to me!

College football is probably my least favorite of all the major US sports. Just doesn't interest me much. Sorry, I'd really like to be a big help for your thread, but I can't. I did flip to the OSU FSU game sometimes during the commercials tho. So that's a start I guess.

Typical Gary Anderson and Andy Ludwig. Had LSU on the ropes, became ultra conservative, focused on not losing, and choked.

BYU looked good in their opener. That run game looks tough. I still didn't see enough out of their pass game to think they will beat Texas next week.

Utah looked very athletic. Travis Wilson is still meh.

Colorado lost to Colorado St. So at least Utah will have one guaranteed PAC-12 win, right?

I can't believe Kiffin is bama's OC. How many opportunities is that punk going to be given?

We will learn a lot more about the Utes after their game with Fresno St. I really hope we get a bowl game this year, we are playing in a deep conference.

By the way, I really appreciate the Pac-12 for creating a youtube channel for international viewers. It means that I get to actually watch some of the games overseas. Love it.

Any Utah State fans on here?

Looking forward to their game tomorrow to see how Keaton performs coming off surgery.

Dak Prescott got his Heisman campaigned started off right.

4 TD's and he didn't play after the 1st possession of the 3rd quarter.

BYU was missing what, 6 starters due to 5 suspensions and 1 injury? No Williams, no Blackmon, no Kurtz on offense. I think their passing game was terrific. O-line protection looked good....partly because UCONN was dropping everybody, but despite them dropping 7 or 8 , Taysom absolutely killed them by playing the most intelligent game he's ever played. That's extremely encouraging to me. Nobody is going to drop 7 or 8 with Jamal Williams back there.

I don't know that you will. They looked pretty bad last night. Their QB stunk up the joint. I guess in the sense that you guys better beat them by a couple of touchdowns, you might learn something.

Though, maybe USC is just that good. I sure hope so.

Not a fan, but I still root for them when they play in these types of games. They've been fun to watch since Keaton has been their QB and they typically show up in big games. Definitely a must watch game tonight.

UK has always been the doormat of SEC football.. and that may never change.
but with a new coach and next level recruiting, I am sensing a better year than the last two years of ZERO wins in conference (lol).

Nobody cares, I know.. but check out these highlights from yesterday's season opener.. we have some studs.
Stamps (defense)
Towles (qb)
Heard (ran the ball twice, only.. for 116yards and two TD's - tweaked ankle on 2nd run and was rested for the remainder).

This.
I kinda thought thriller must bit have watched the game.

To me the passing game looked good, especially the o-line, but the running game didn't have a lot of holes to run through

I didn't say their passing game wasn't good. I just didn't see enough out of it against that awful UCONN team. Hopefully the players coming off suspension can change my mind.

yep

Miami sucks again.

At least their coaches didn't name Jake Heaps the starter afterall. I couldn't believe another team was going to hand him the reigns after bombing at BYU and Kansas, but that's what it looked like was going to happen according to the newspapers leading up to the season. Though maybe they still will, because looking at the boxscore.....15.6 QBR from the other guy is not going to secure a starting job.
