I see what you're saying but there's more than just the $1.58 million 2010-11 savings between the salaries of Matthews and Elson + Bell's cap figures. It's about the Millers saving actual real-life dollars. Matthews makes $5.8 mill this year but also received a $3.4 million bonus meaning he would've been paid $9.2 million this season. Not to mention, about a 1/3 of Elson's salary is not paid for by the Millers but by the league - effectively saving twice as much since only the percentage of salary paid for by the Jazz will be taxed.
