I like that there is a band where people with ginormous heads can get together and bob their ginormous heads together over some funky music.

No joke I just bought one of their albums on Amazon. I like supporting indys. And they are good, no matter how goofy the videos.

Wait for the Moment and 1612 are the only two songs where they have someone singing (incredible voice too). I hope they come out here or at least to Colorado/Idaho so I can see them live.

Any small/under the radar bands you've got to recommend? Doesn't necessarily have to be same type of music. I know there are some amazing musicians/artists/writers/etc. out there that no one knows about, but they're all online in some form or another so I enjoy hearing other people's recs on indie types. Glad you liked Vulfpeck!

I'll warn you, I have a broad range of tastes in music. I mean, all over the place. Most of the groups I like are slightly out of the mainstream, though some of them are quite successful so you may know of them. In fact, I would be suroprised if you hadn't heard of at least some of these groups.

Nickel Creek (Bluegrass/Folk band. They recently got back together after almost six years apart and I saw them in concert here in Tennessee. They are great.)
Sarah Watkins (One of the members of Nickel Creek. Has two solo albums. Her last one was great all around. Also a bluegrass feel, but modern)
The Like (Retro sixties sound. All girl band. At least their album Release Me)
The Young Veins (Retro sixties sound. The band was comprised of members that broke off from Panic at the Disco. They only lasted one album)
Vampire Weekend (Yes, they are really hispterish, but I love it.)
Secret Garden (Big in europe. They are a new age band. Recently they have gotten a bit easy listening/pop, but their first few albums were fantastic soundscapes. Good for listening to in the dark. Fantasy novel fuel.)
Walk off the Earth (These guys became somewhat of a youtube sensation with their cover songs and inventive videos. Their album REVO is fantastic and even got some radio play)
Pentatonix (You have probably heard of these guys. Acapella group that pulls off a sound nothing like any acapella group ever before. They have more of an R&B playlist, but I love everything they do)
The Rosewood Thieves (Fantastic Indy rock band. Also someone of a retro 60's/70's feel. Really cool stuff)
The Gypsy Kings (Spanish music powerhouse. You have heard their music sampled everywhere, commercials, etc. Just get their greatest hits album. Gypsy music)
No More Kings (They sound a bit like Maroon five, but all their songs are linked with pop culture references. Their one famous one is Sweep the Leg which is about the Karate Kid. Check out that Vid on Youtube if you haven't seen it.)
