Putting biases aside, do you think Booker's foul on Griffin was Cheap? (Griffin indicated it was)

Dante Exum- I think the Clippers announcer said it best last night: "Wow, This kid is the real deal." His speed and 1st step are elite. I keep hearing people say they don't see the elite 1st step. I think you have to be blind not to see it. When he gets an NBA body and some experience with how to finish in the paint, he's gonna be unreal, especially if he keeps shooting that 3 well. The thing that has impressed me most about Exum is how he sort of got punked but Paul the 1st time around, but he was able to come out and go toe to toe with Paul for like 6 minutes last night and he seemed un-phased. He also did not turn the ball over.

Quin Snyder- He's so much better than Corbin at coaching that I feel bad for Corbin. What was KOC thinking?? Would Corbin still be the coach if KOC was still GM and there was no Lindsey influence? The play that was run out of the timeout where Favors caught the pass down low and then zipped it to Gobert for an easy dunk was awesome. Schematically, Quin is sharp. He's sharp out of time outs and he seems like an elite communicator and teacher. I really like Quin. Also, just a side note, Quin is the same age as Pop when pop took over the reins for the Spurs. Sure hope he has a tenure in the same stratosphere as GP (haha obviously not Gary Payton).

Trevor Booker- I was a bit unsure as to how I felt about Booker when we signed him. At this point, I am unequivocally planted on the Booker Bandwagon. He's Tough. He plays tough, and that is what this team needs! I think At this point Rudy and Booker are the toughest players on the team. Maybe throw Dante Jones in there if he makes the team. Anyone disagree? And I don't think Booker's foul on Griffin was a cheap shot like he suggested. I just think it was a hard foul. I loved the play. I think that plays like that will help form the team's identity. It was good stuff.

Derrick Favors- I love you, D-Favs. You have worked on that offensive game, you are playing tough, your block on Deandre Jordan was epic , and I think you are going to have a big year.

Clippers Announcers- haha. They are way better than the Lakers Announcers and they had some good lines last night. My favorite came when toward the end of the game the color commentator said in a tone of confusion, "Are the Jazz for real??" haha. They are also Exum believers now too.

Gordon Hayward- Dudes, please stop saying negative things about Hayward. Hottie Nickkk, Hayward is a good dude. I'd encourage you not to accuse him of being a selfish son of a ***** anymore. I don't think that's fair. And people that think he's overpaid, he won't be as the salary cap rises and he's pretty damn good. Loved his stat line last night and Quin's offense is gonna facilitate higher efficiency. Good Showing Gordon.

Rudy!- He's tough. He plays with a little nastiness and you can tell he is not scared of anyone on the court. I like that. We need that. But he's also pretty damn good. Loved the assist he had to Gordon the other night.

Alec Burks- Miss you man.

Trey Burke- He's on track to surpassing my expectations. Love the finishes in the paint he's added to his game. That floater is gonna help him quite a bit. Keep getting to the Charity Stirke!

Hood- 6 fouls in 10 minutes was perplexing but I am a hood believer. I think he can play.

Kanter- Honestly, I like Kanter, but I think this is the beginning of the end as it pertains to his tenure as a Jazzman.

I really like the fact that Burke is starting now and that means Exum has a chance to learn without all the pressures to "win now", and take his time developing his shot and other NBA fundamentals.

In 1-2 years we may have to choose 1 of them to take forward, but having that choice would be a real luxury.

I agree. Absolutely. I think There will be ups and downs and his body does not look ready to shoulder the epic burden of a full NBA season.

I just remember the Clippers announcers talking about using Hedo Turkolgu in lineups like it would be a positive thing.... lol.

Exum will be fine in two, three seasons we will fast forget what all the negativity was about. He's only 19, and will learn the game in leaps and bounds.
As for Booker - Im a deadset fan the man has a pair and plays tough, same for Rudy we need some nastiness and enforcer
players and these two plus Jones if he makes the cut.
As for the Booker foul he clearly tried to swipe the ball but Griffin was airborne made it look worse than it was- just a hard foul thats all.

You really don't have to choose between them (unless there is a $$$ factor) especially if Exum and Burke can both be knockdown spot-up shooters.

It'll all come down to Exum being able to shoot it consistently... but yeah if they both can knock them down then that's a pretty lethal combo for sure.

Terrific post batman. I agree with all of it.

As for exum..... i was never worried about his speed or first step or iq or court vision or passing. I was quite worried about his cardio (stupidly im sure) and his outside shot.
Im VERY VERY encouraged by his shooting these last few games and the fact that he doesn't seem afraid to shoot the three. He seems to have confidence that it will go in.

p.s. Im still a little worried about his shot for some reason doe

Anybody who gave up on Exum before the season even started should just change their username now. You have disgraced yourself.

Griffin is a massive crier. That was a regular hard foul, and only a fragrant in how wussified the league has become over the past 5 or so years.

He would have never survived in the 90s.

Exum has amazing speed... He doesn't look like he's pressing though so I think people may miss it. When he's going up the court in attack mode look at the difference between him and the guy next to him. Thought he was great last night... When pressure came he attacked it and left defender behind.

It won't be all rainbows and butterflies this year but I can definitely see the star qualities.

He went for the ball and inadvertently got part of his head. Not cheap at all. Bad call by the refs (unless they have to call it if he hits the head no matter if it was intentional or not, don't know the rule).

It was a flagrant by current NBA standards but the reason he gets fouled and put to the deck is he goes to the basket violently and recklessly. If you try to dunk people through the rim there will end up being hard contact. Half the hard foul stuff is on Blake. I have no idea why he got so pissed last night... Booker got him before he got in the air and it was across the arms... He's a *****.

The Clippers are aspiring to top the Western Conference this year. Struggling to beat the Jazz would make you mad i would think.

I think him and Booker have some history so that could be part of it.

Yes, the Jazz ARE for real. The WC is tough - and deep. But something tells me the Jazz are going to be like the Suns of last season. Everyone is going to be overlooking Utah, expecting an easy win and the Jazz will surprise quite a few team early on. After the break, when teams start to really push for the playoffs, Utah's youth will start to show. But it would not surprise me one bit if this team finishes at .500.
