Would you rather win 50 games and someone within the organization die, or win 25 games and no one dies?

To this point, I have a homework assignment for whomever wants to accept it. Has there been another team in NBA history to start 5 lottery picks who were all drafted within 3 years of each other?

02-03 Clippers

Andre Miller - 1999 8th pick
Corey Maggette - 1999 13th pick

Elton Brand - 1999 1st pick
Michael Olowonkandi - 1998 1st pick

Hmmm...nice find.

I'm impressed you've taken the time to find this stuff, even coming up with the Bucks example that was really close, but - and I realize I'm being nitpicky - I looked at games at the beginning of 02-03, the middle of the season and at the end of the season, and I didn't find any where all five guys started together.

You get 75% credit.

Tanking last year was the right decision. We got what we were looking for: a potential star. Now that we have him, I think this core has the talent to eventually develop into a title contender. So we don't need to tank again this year.

I'm ready to root for some Jazz wins again.

This is a good question. Perhaps the answer is obvious, that we want 40 wins, because we would see marked improvement while still getting the 11th pick. But man, if we win 25 games in a way that shows growth and we can land a stud somehow (Towns?), than wow. That's tough to pass up.

I'll vote for 40 though. The 11th pick with all of our other assets may be enough to move up and land a stud.

I still think we need 1 more piece, a true scoring athletic PF to pair with Gobert.

So yeah, I'd do it 1 more year and grab Karl Towns and be done with it (ala Spurs when they got Duncan to pair with Robinson).

Thanks and it really didn't take me much time, I just had ideas of who I thought would qualify and remembered the Clippers team, just had to research when they were drafted. But where were you looking anyways cause from what I see, they started together all the games they were healthy, Olowonkandi only played 36 games though.
