tl/dr, but I have some points to make:
1. This is the first time we've ever heard about this 3 year time frame thing. Even Stephen A and Skip had this expression on their faces "What? Never heard of this".
2. Does the 3 year time frame include the time they hired Mike D'Antoni?
3. Kobe's injury was brought about by him having to do everything himself. This is due partly to the lack of talent they had at the time and the way D'Antoni's runs his offense.
4. It was their decision to sign Nash who they should have known is too old. So really him being injured, etc, should have been well within the realm of consideration before signing him.
5. If you can justify every decisions by saying "OH because Jim Buss has a share ownership in the business - so let him do what he want", then I think it's time they sell the team, because that's totally unprofessional.
Personally I hope Jim Buss takes control of the whole team/operation and the Lakers spend the next 10 years not making it into the playoffs.
