Because what's presented as clean, good-guy actions are really not, and it poisons the culture.
Having sex with a woman who does not want to have sex with you is rape.
Not if she's not resisting, I don't think so.
You really have no clue, do you?

what was the issue/statement that Charles Barkley caught all kinds of flak for some years back? I think it was probably at least 10-12 years ago but I'm not sure - - and I don't recall if it was a racially-related comment, or gender/sexist based or what, I just recall that it was a bit of a hot topic at my book group meeting at the time.
I checked to see what was on google but nothing I saw seemed to match my recollection of the issue (though since I don't recall the issue, I guess that's a bit of a dubious statement!)
Anyone have any idea here?

Women who are unconscious can't resist, either. So, I don't think "not resisting" is sufficient to be "not rape".
So, I have enough of a clue to think you possibly misunderstood me, and you're referring to women who agree to have sex even when they are not feeling particularly amorous. I agree that those women are not being raped.
6 years ago he got a lot of flak when he got pulled over late at night and said he was on his was to get a ******** from a prostitute around the corner or something.
Two years ago he called all the SA women fat and ugly.
Did you notice the anti-intellectual movement in mainstream American culture? It lasts well into adulthood.
thanks Scootsy - neither of those seem quite what I'm thinking of but I'll keep checking.

Sooooooo much to choose from.
Anecdotally, no. I find the common advice "Be nice to nerds, you're probably going to work for them" pretty accurate. In real life, I've found adults seem to respect intelligence, and online, everyone thinks he/she is intelligent.
On the olympic sport of curling: "I'm still trying to get my grandmother off her old behind and into the Olympics. Why not? She can dust."
