I think it was probably at least 10-12 years ago but I'm not sure - - and I don't recall if it was a racially-related comment, or gender/sexist based or what, I just recall that it was a bit of a hot topic at my book group meeting at the time.

I checked to see what was on google but nothing I saw seemed to match my recollection of the issue (though since I don't recall the issue, I guess that's a bit of a dubious statement!)

Anyone have any idea here?

6 years ago he got a lot of flak when he got pulled over late at night and said he was on his was to get a ******** from a prostitute around the corner or something.

Two years ago he called all the SA women fat and ugly.

Women who are unconscious can't resist, either. So, I don't think "not resisting" is sufficient to be "not rape".

So, I have enough of a clue to think you possibly misunderstood me, and you're referring to women who agree to have sex even when they are not feeling particularly amorous. I agree that those women are not being raped.

I'm glad you appropriately interpreted my intent.

thanks Scootsy - neither of those seem quite what I'm thinking of but I'll keep checking.

Anecdotally, no. I find the common advice "Be nice to nerds, you're probably going to work for them" pretty accurate. In real life, I've found adults seem to respect intelligence, and online, everyone thinks he/she is intelligent.

I have a wife and 4 kids, I get reminded how unintelligent I am on a daily basis.
 
There's a great book,"The Beautiful Struggle" by Ta-Nehisi Coates, on the conflict between wanting a life of the mind but needing to live another way in order to survive the neighborhood and the streets. It's kind of a "Manchild in the Promised Land" for the hip-hop generation.

I will do a highly scientific and peer-reviewed study with this stuff on Saturday at our church basketball session, with a collection of about 4-6 black men (plus a couple hispanics and an asian guy, and about 6 or 8 bland white guys), 2 of which afforementioned black guys are LDS, the rest not, and then deliver the results of my cutting edge research in a later post.
 
Splendid idea! Be sure to ask how many of them have considered signing their grandmas up for a curling team.
