What's new

Let's show em' how it's done in Detroit tonight

Rudy Gobert Dfg % = 48 %
BIG-AL DFG % = 46 %

Al is playing against starting 5 players.... Al always was a great defender, Jazzfans will remember... :)

I read the thread and the same people blame Kanter for every point scored. I don't know where the stats were taken that I read earlier in the thread as they were not sourced. But the only Piston big to shoot over 50% tonight was Jerbenko. Josh Smith, Monroe, and Drummond were all far below 50% from the floor.

I do not deny that every now and then Kanter has a play on defense that makes you bang your head on the table, but the hate some fans give him is irrational. He is 22 and learning a new system. He tried to hustle tonight and he shot the ball very well. Get off his back.

Hayward was something like 2-10 until the fourth quarter. You have to hand it to the guy, because he brought it when it mattered.

I have always liked Burke, but Exum seems to be improving every single game. I would still bring Exum off the bench, but there may be a time he forces his way into the starting line-up.

Way to shoot the ball Ingles.

This is what I call intellectual honesty!

Trade: Burke + Kanter for Greg Monroe. Would you do it?

The same Monroe that was 8 for 18 tonight. Monroe is not better than Kanter. Monroe is seeking a max contract. Why would you trade Kanter and Burke for Monroe. That is crazy talk.

Not saying I'd do it. Was just curious as to folks' reactions.

Monroe is better than Kanter. But no, I wouldn't do that trade.

1) Monroe didn't make, or miss all of his shots while he was guarded by Kanter. That's why saying he was 8/18 is being intellectually dishonest in regards to Kanters defense.

2) Monroe is much, much better than Kanter. Monroe can actually pass and handle the ball, while having similar range and post scoring ability. And he's only two years older than Kanter.

Monroe is like what Kanter will be if he lives up to 100% of his potential. Monroe isn't anymore physically gifted, but is 10 times smarter.

In Greg Monroe's worst season (his rookie season where he played 28 mpg), he had 11 less assists than Enes Kanter has had for his career.

LOL @ Kanter being on the same level as Monroe.

There's actually no question than Monroe is better than Kanter. We shouldn't even be talking about it. But I don't like a frontcourt of Favors and Monroe.

So how exactly were we able to obtain Ingles?

Clippers waived him in preseason going after some other players. We picked him up off waivers. Clippers said they were disappointed that we did that because they were going to try and resign him.

Kanter continues to be the odd-one out with this team. His offense is great, but it's unnecessary to us. We bleed buckets every time he steps onto the court.
Good way to put it

I agree that Burks needs to step up and play with more confidence, but he did do a good job defensively on Jennings in the 4th. The Detroit PGs simply abused Trey, especially because he's not good at rolling through or around the screens. However, you saw Exum doing it, and playing much better D than Trey. If Trey isn't hitting his shots, he's worthless out there. But with Exum, he doesn't have to score to be valuable because he does other things.
