This teams defense stinks

I think we need a thread dedicated to primary d, secondary d, and rim defense (realizing the redundancy there).

I loathe hearing about so and so is a bad defender.. when no account is taken (i.e.) to perimeter d being a sieve.

Proper accountability within a thread.

almost every team in nba has an amazing pg. so they always bit trey off the dribble. that pretty much breaks down the defense.

I think a lot of people have pointed out the obvious already.

Burke cant stay in front of his player and it forces the entire defense to break apart.

Kanter has improved but yes he is still weak on defense.

kanter isnt the best on defense but Burke might arguably be worse.

Burke, for me, is the by far the biggest problem. He should start focusing on defense and passing and stop trying to get open for shots, which seems to be his only mindset. He just can't cut it on D. The Toronto guards were scoring on him at will; it was just too easy. I agree Trey needs to go.

PG: Trey is undersized and can't keep his man in front of him and Exum is a rookie with multiple defensive problems.
SG: Burks is wildly inconsistent on defense and has a hard time keeping his man in front of him. Hood is a rookie.
SF: Gordon is a good defender, but we are undersized against some SF's in the league
PF: Kanter couldn't cover my dead grandmother and Booker is undersized
C: Favors is undersized and Gobert isnt' heavy enough to play against the few bruising centers left in the game.

The greatest coach of all time couldn't fix our defense.

That's an assumption.... and it may or may not be true. (I tend to agree with you though)

It's not like marvin is a cross between Tony Allen and Tyson Chandler or something.

I understand why Trey is being blamed for our defensive **** storm, but I honestly thought he played pretty decent defense last night (specifically in the first half) despite the huge game Lowry had. Our overall team defense, for the most part, was doing the right things. Toronto out played us, plain and simple. They have a lot of talent. They're the best team in the east for a reason.
