Are we going to be an "elite team" by Philbert Jackson's definition?

The Colonel always says you're not elite unless you win 40 games before you lose 20. The Jazz have to go at least 15-6 in the next 21 games to do that. I think we can, but we'll have to play better.

I choose C.

As far as simplistic reasoning goes, that's a pretty good one.

And I don't know. I'm pretty astonished the Jazz have as good a record as they do considering you can't count on them to score or rebound with any kind of reliability and they bury themselves in the first quarter.

Elite? Holy ****, we have trouble getting past the first round of the playoffs and we wanna know if we are going to be an elite team? C'mon. Nothing's changed in four years. Sure, the parts are different but we know exactly where this roller coaster of a ride is taking us.

Maybe that's why I put "elite team" in quotes, and explained what Phil uses to define it.

For as pompous and ego-driven as he is, Phil has a point with the 40 before 20 dictum.

Will that apply to the Jazz. Love to see it, but it won't happen. We need to get our stuff together long before we can sniff that kind of a run. And by "get our stuff together," I really mean "maybe make a trade."

LOL. Sure, we might reach 40 games before we lose 20. But that doesn't mean we can beat the top teams in a playoff series. Especially when we never play the first 3 quarters of games. Not to mention that we typically play 3-5 on offense with Raja and AK being complete non-factors offensively. SA, LA, Boston, and Miami would destroy us in 7 game series.

The Jazz are one player away from being "elite," but that would have to be a really good player. I still think Danny Granger would be cool.

Josh Smith would be cool too.

Maybe if Javale McGee keeps improving that would be cool.

Rudy Gay on a good day would be cool.

...something like that would make us elite.

there is no way the jazz with reach 40 wins before 20 losses and will in fact not reach 40 wins before 30 losses
