The way we closed out the half was disappointing, same with the end of the game. BYU had chances at the end. Good game though.

Honestly shocked how incredibly Mormon the players look. Me and my roommates were amazed.

Good game. Utah is obviously having troubles closing out halves going back to the Wichita game. BYU's got some nice players. I really like that Winder kid. I thought it was gonna be a hard fought game and either team could win. For the most part, that's pretty much what we got.

Chase fischer committing dumb fouls and getting in foul trouble had an effect on byu's offense.

Needed him to step up and make shots

Yeah, I've heard Ute fans can be kinda classless. I think maybe all that winning has gone to their heads.

My hell!! What an awful thread!! It's BYU vs. Utah, and we have jazzman liking the kittens uniforms, and Fish complimenting utah's game. What the hell!!!

Where's the name calling, pettiness, utah players pumping gas jokes, or jokes about BYU players being balding?

Very disappointed.

Go utes! BYU is the devils team!!

BYU's bigs had.....3 rebounds. Total. As a group. Other than BYU shooting horribly, I think their lack of weak side help on the boards and defense was the key to picking up the L.

How much of that Pot hole guy looking good has been because he has been player against smaller players? He looked amazing during the 8 mins I was awake for Witchita game but they also only had small guys on him. He didn't look good last night.

Meh. I tried to get all passionate last night but it just never materialized. Maybe I'll feel that rivalry blood pumpin for our 2 games vs Colorado.....

watched this last night on replay.

Horrible inconsistent officiating. Kinda surprised I was the first one to say something about it.

Had to listen on the radio so didn't see with my eyes, but was the officiating as bad as it sounded? Was that Ute shot that counted really 2 seconds after the shot clock expired?

TBH though, even with the bad officiating even if it favored the Utes, the Cougs had their chances to win the game and couldn't. Missing front ends of 1 and 1 situations, blowing multiple layups with nobody around, crappy rebounding. Zero big support.

A good game, but I just can't put the loss on refs even if they sucked.

I actually thought the refs were ok.

One play that I remember, that I never understood and was never explained, happened very early in the game.

Kyle collinsworth went to the hoop and made a shot (at least I think he did, I was playing ball with my dog and saw the play from far away) while getting fouled.
Byu's score changed from 4 points to 6 points on the scoreboard and then the game went to commercial before he got to shoot the and one. When the commercial ended and the game resumed, the score was back to 4 points and collinsworth shot 2 free throws instead of one.

It was never explained and I have no idea what happened.

The officiating was just bad. I think the 2 second thing you are talking about was actually whether or not BYU established possession before a jump ball was called. Judgement call but they didn't imo. It would have been a shot clock violation instead Utah got the ball and a new clock. For most of the game it favored BYU actually. The last 2 minutes definitely favored the Utes. You're right each team had their chances but the officiating was bad.

He didn't make that shot. Score keepers mistake. They took the 2 points away.
