So Taliban kills 130 innocent kids in Pakistan

How about her? There are rebels in every society, those who, for whatever reason, do not buy into system justification. This doesn't alter what I said.

Well, you said they have no choice. Choice is always there IMHO. Thats how evil empires always fall. It takes 1 rebel to start.

so you think 9.11 attacks were perfectly justified as well?

You missed the point.

He is saying that the other side can use your exact logic to justify killing those children. It shows the flaw in your thinking.

If you nuke the Taliban and many of those Muslim countries the Muslims that survive will be more justified to do more attacks on the US. How is nuking a city protecting children in the school? It is killing em.

Wow. No. Nor do I think nuking anybody is justified. I was saying, if you're going to justify killing their children because they threaten our way of life then you have to justify their killing of our children to protect their way of life also. None of it is justified. None of it.

But that was not the point. I don't think they killed those children in Pakistan because they wanted to protect their way of life. Statement I read was " so they ( families of the children) could feel the pain". They are plain murderers. Nothing they do can be justified. Eliminating them on the other hand seems like huge favor to humanity. The question so many of you seem to ignore - how to do it? What's the solution?

Are you familiar with how nuclear weapons work? They are not the answer.

The solution is to gain an understanding that we can not make the world and all the people in it behave the way we want them to. That horrible things happen and ultimately we're better off carefully selecting the fights we get in and for the most part accepting the horrors for what they are. I think the best path is one in which we maintain our principles. The ends do not justify the means.

But why after being punished you would think about revenge?? Why not think this way - I was bad, I got punished, I accept my punishment and I will be good from now on?

They do not see their actions as bad, just as many in the U.S., like Dick Cheney, don't think the U.S. torturing prisoners was bad.

Not to mention the view of "who are you to punish me?" If a country hit America with an attack as "punishment" (or any other reason) it would lead to war. Not America thinking/saying "Sorry guys! You sure showed us the error of our ways! Thanks!" Why should these people be any different?

Not to mention the view of "who are you to punish me?"

History is full of examples of nations uniting and hitting terrorists, dictators or other evil structures together. Or we as humans should just close our eyes and pretend this part on Earth does not exist and let them kill each other? Again, what's the solution?

#'Merica's lack of enough action against stuff like this, relative to other things which better serve self-interests, is prolly why a great portion of the world laughs at our 'war against terrorism'.

Problems with nukes is that it would kill thousands if not millions of innocents.

There are methods that would dramatically curtail these maniac and any future recruiting but they would be highly immoral and many would object.

I don't agree with this. Any form of "cleansing" or thereof would result in a sort of martyrdom and beget some stem group who'd attempt to get justice and exact revenge decades later. If that makes sense.

I want to see suggestions how to eliminate Taliban ISIS, etc without hurting innocent people. Come on folks, lets hear some crazy ideas.

That's easy. Remove their motivation to exist, or at least continue to grow/recruit. Nothing physical, unless you count the act of signing documents and changing political policy as physicality. Certainly no violence involved. Losing lives wouldn't be possible if this path were taken, but losing money might be a different issue though. Crazy, I know.

The solution is often worse than the disease.

We do not pretend that they don't exist. In fact, we do the opposite. We recognize their existence and we recognize their right to exist on their own terms, not ours. That's the ****ing solution.

Yeah, a bad thing just happened. Let them learn and grow from it. The Taliban did themselves no favors by killing those children.

The U.S. has done horrible, horrible things, from the beginning all the way until present day. Should someone come wipe us out because we have blood on our hands? Is it a matter of whoever can bully everyone else into behaving the way they want them to gets to do that?

There is no solution for this massacre. The kids are dead. We don't need to pour gasoline on the fire and call it a solution just because we feel the need to do something for the sake of doing something.

Hey, this a grave injustice and the U.S. always needs to step up to the plate when such awful incidents occur....and there's money to be made.

I have been reading about what happened in Pakistan all morning and have been brought to tears, and feel like I've been punched in the stomach many times. I am going to be in back country WY for the next couple months (I know everyone will miss my posts) and it couldn't be a better time. I need to recharge and re-evaluate things. The world is beautiful but humans have ****ed it all up.
