2014-2015 Raul Neto Watch

Yep. What I remember from summer league is that he looked a lot like Trey. Neto MIGHT be a slight upgrade, but he certainly isn't great by any means. And Dante is SO, SO far away. Exum doesn't drive, telegraphs his passes and is actually not that great of a defender. I'd be surprised if Exum is a starter before the next 2 years. Jazz need to trade for or sign a veteran PG.

What I remember from summer league is that Neto looked WAY BETTER than Trey. And Neto did not look NBA ready.

While they both shoot terrible percentages at least Neto does not try to shoot a thousand times a game.

Neto shot 27% in 3 games in Orlando and did not attempt a 3PT FG. He averaged 4 pts and 3 assists in 17 mins. Trey shot 24% and an amazing 5% on his 3's. He averaged 9 pts and 4 assists in 27 mins. So I wouldn't say Neto looked WAY BETTER. Wasn't Raul sent home before the Vegas League this past summer? I don't think he played.

I'm not sure Neto is really in the long-term plans of the Jazz. With Hayward and/or Burks initiating plays, Utah really needs a Derek-Fisher type PG: someone who can just hang out behind the arc and make 3's when he's left open. I'll withhold judgment on Dante, but with each passing game he looks more like a future backup than a potential star. Let's hope his development curve mirrors that of Schroder and not Burke.

almost every analyst thinks dante is going to be amazing in 2-3 years. If you can not see the potential in his game, you must be blind. The kid is going to be awesome, but he is really raw right now.

I do see flashes. But often perceived potential becomes unrealized potential. Does Dante have the drive to become great?

Did you think Hayward had the drive to be great? I know I didn't. Gordon was 24 before he proved me wrong. Dante is 19. I like his game, but it's obvious he needs to develops his body and confidence. I think he deserves a ton of patience.

There is a lot more to a game that scoring and shooting percentage. I remember watching those games. Neto looked way better, sorry. Had tempo, court vision, etc. Problem is, he didn't look like a NBA ready point guard which really worried me about Trey.
