Other Kanter trade ideas....just because we can

I'm not saying the Jazz need to trade Kanter, but I'm guessing he'll get offered something in the $11M - $12MM/year range in free agency. That's a lot to match (depending the new cap structure), assuming the Jazz want to start Favors and Gobert in the front court.

So one question worth asking would be if we want to flip Kanter for a deal based around Tobias Harris and pay him instead. (I'm assuming the Jazz would inherit the right to match him as a restricted free agent and would inherit his bird rights.) This more or less assumes that the Jazz would start Hayward at SG and Harris at SF, with Burks and Hood off the bench. Harris and Kanter both have a PER in the 18 range. Both are 22 years old. Kanter probably has more upside potential.

Harris is known as a mediocre defender, especially against quicker wings.

Discuss.

If we could get Harris that'd be awesome. Unfortunately Harris has much more value than kanter.

No offense but that makes no sense. Why would the magic trade in for kanter when they have rich mans enes kanter or is enes poor mans vucecic? Sad i always thought kanter would be a better play than nik.

Consodering the market it would be no surprise to me when tobias is getting a near max deal and where should he play?as a stretch 4 or a sf? In thr 2nd case that would mean alec would be a 10 million benchplayer. Give kanter a two year deal with 10-11 million and after the two years rudy should be able to improve his body stength and earn his max contract. A frontcourt trio with gobert, enes and favors should be awesome.

Wait there are still our sucking guards. Instead of harris and bell or mo williams and foye we have burke and burks. Pray 4 dante...

I don't feel Harris is the right fit. We want quicker, more athletic, perimeter players. Harris is a nice player but he's not a game changer.

This. We don't want to be average. We want to take 2-4 of our average "assets" like Burks, Kanter, draft picks, as well as, and I'll duck, Exum, ahem, for an obvious and huge upgrade. A Rondo-type player.

Formula

1 offensive frontcourt player
1 defensive frontcourt player
1 defensive backcourt player
1 offensive backcourt player
1 3&D wing player

Bench full of lunch pail, braided up, badasses.

The legend of Rondo:rolleyes:......aim much higher than that for that package in any combination.

I'm liking what Favors is doing. No reason he can't be a 20 and 10 guy himself without all the other stuff cousins brings,so no.
That is so ****ing tired. Two narratives;

1) Favors is almost there.. maybe next year.
2) Cousins baggage scares me!

Maybe if Favors could develop a little baggage of his own he would be worth all the over-praise he gets from Jazzers.

Cousins is #4 in the league in PTs and #3 in the league in RBDs. Wonder where that places him in the best bigs in the league?
How does that compare to Favors not in top 40 in scoring and #16 in boards?

Oh, it must be the leadership Favors exudes. lmao

And I really like Favors, but c'mon, bro.. you, of all people, should be able to see beyond.

This is also why I said no.

I like favors too much. He has a friendly contract, and he likes it here.

Like pkm said, cousins would look good next to gobert though..... I still wouldn't do the trade though. Favors looks good next to gobert too

I don't see Cousins as a winner so ill take less baggage. Why move parts around just for the sake of doing so? Cousins is a better player no doubt, but no way do I want him and his loserish attitude sinking my team.
