Rudy 'tudeI was at the game tonight and at one point noticed Gobert get in someones face. Was it Speights? Gobert has some nasty in him and his upper body looks pretty beastly in person.

No. I don't have to do what you tell me. I can declare Rudy great at anytime. I don't need a bunch of meaningless accumulative stats to tell me he's better than a bunch of scrubs no one even remembers even played for the Jazz.
He is already pretty chiseled. For his body type he isn't going to get much bigger. He has an Abdul-Jabbar type of build with more shoulders : Sure the legs are wiry, but he is already big and strong for his type and shouldn't be made to get bigger. those extra 10/20 pounds of muscle some might want him to had could have many negative effects : higher injury risk (more weight on his limbs, more pull on his joints and bones because of the stronger muscles), slowing him down (sure better man to man defense, but worse zone and help defense which are a lot more useful nowadays), etc...
To me he is already at a peak physically. What you want if you are the staff if from now on for him to stay healthy so that he can play, keep fit so that he can stay active for those 30/35 minutes he will play and just developp a bit more strength in his hands. Physically I wouldn't do anything further.
I agree with this. He can get stronger, but i wouldn't want him much bigger. I think Hibbert is one of the few players that will give him trouble because he has size and girth. I think it is critical for big men to watch their weight as their knees and feet take so much impact. I'd add 5 to 10 lbs of muscle and not much more than that.

I totally agree with you on your philosophy here but I do think Rudy could put on a healthy 2-3 pounds per off-season. It doesn't sound like much but an extra 15 pounds of muscle could do wonders five years from now when we're in the NBA Finals.
Typically getting stronger also means getting bigger. He's a professional athlete. It's not like he can get stronger through neural adaptation at this level. He'll need more muscle mass.
Premature. There is a countdown thread going comparing Rudy to all the great centers of the Jazz past. How can Rudy be not quite as good as Memo or Ostertag, but as great as Malone?
Rushing to a declaration like this takes all the pleasure and enjoyment out of watching Rudy unfold before our eyes. Allow the process to play out, and wait until he is the greatest player since Malone. Which at the rate he is going should be sometime in early march.
I think most of Rudy's weight is in his long freakin arms and hands so we should be okay
Honestly... I think he could add a few pounds (and likely will... its just nature) in his base. I think he is strong enough in the upper body. If he had a stronger base it's help with him getting pushed under the basket on rebounds and help him hold his position on both sides of the floor. He doesn't need an overhaul though. I wouldn't do anything that affects his mobility.
It's funny when guys post him up because they can mover him, but he's so long that when they try to go up over him he still blocks it. Seems to happen once a game.
I'm beyond stoked about him... team him up with Favs and we actually have an identity.
