CNN posed an interesting question this morning "Is it cruel to kick a robot dog?"
The simple answer from a Tech. professor was: "The only way it's unethical is if the robot could feel pain."

I honestly felt bad when they kicked the dog. Like really bad. So weird.
Not weird. Normal human empathic reaction to perceived harm inflicted on something that resembles a living animal. Whenever I show people this video, or the ones with previous Boston Dynamics robots, the kick is almost always the first thing they bring up.
