It would not be classy. As Favors said, it's a business. He saw he will get cut by Rudy -which I saw in the 1st summer league Rudy played for Utah and posted here- and tried to make his move and succeeded. And he was always a community guy. It was not like he was ignoring fans. He was always trying to do something good for his franchise.

Middleton was never going to happen. The Bucks just cleared space by giving up on Brandon Knight(borderline all-star in the East) in order to be in good position to sign Middleton in the summer... It was a pipe dream...

I really think the Bucks are going to go after a big in FA (there are a lot of really good FA centers worth the max). Do they get any, maybe not. They might after to overpay for a guy like Robin Lopez if they get one of the upper tier centers.

Maybe he could have kicked the can down the road like he did with this trade, and acquired some future picks. Of course, maybe that wasn't available. I don't know. What I do know is that he got very little for a now two-time all-star, a fringe all-star, and a decent young controllable (RFA) player (and Carroll).

Eh, the final year with Jefferson and Millsap was where the Jazz' strategy was long visible long before Lindsay was hired. Everything the Jazz had done since they acquired Jefferson and the subsequent Williams trade was to try and compete with that group until their contracts were up and then have oodles of cap space and a bevy of young talent and make decisions then. The year prior the Jazz had made the playoffs and were still in line for the playoffs at the trading deadline. The Jazz never had any intention of fire selling when their plan to see what happened that next off season was half a season away and they could still make the playoffs.

Assigning Lindsay to Millsap's and Jefferson's free agency is erroneous.

The Lindsay era truly started with the GSW trade. My memory tells me you were not a fan of that trade, either. Jazz used one of those picks to acquire a better number pick in Burke, the right decision in the circumstances. I don't think anyone can truly knock the trade given the knowledge at the time.

There's just not enough there to make any accurate statement. I can see being skeptical, but not for anything Millsap or Jefferson related.

I think we drafted the BPA at the time, under the circumstances. What I'm more upset about is the fact that we "lucked out" that year of all years. Had we stayed at 6 we might have ended up with a better player.

I'm wondering what type of player would have become Kanter after 4 seasons under Jerry Sloan.

I'll tell you...he would have played 3 minutes a game his first season and marginally more each year. Kanter lacks the physical ability to play defense in the nba. Jerry would have Fessed him.
