Agreed. Even with his shooting off this game, he was consistently engaged. The shot needs some serious work, but he has some real tools on both ends (first step, length and defensive instincts).
If we're really generous and say Collier's true talent is a 30% NBA 3-point shooter, there's a less than 1 in 600 chance he makes 80 or more 3s on 200 attempts in a season. About a 1 in 14 chance he hits 70 or more (35%).
In terms of expected (average) career peak:
1. Ace
2. Kessler
3. Hendricks
4. Filipowski
5. Keyonte
6. WCJ
7. Brice
8. Collier
9. Cody
4-8 tough to rank; also not sure how to rank 1-2. Bullish on Hendricks (high floor, mid ceiling); still bearish (but hopeful) on Cody.
After sleep walking through the first half of game 1, Cody's looked pretty good overall.
Also nice to see WCJ stay composed after an absolutely brutal first half.
He's definitely making quick reads and looking to move the ball, which is nice to see.
Don't love Cody not getting the ball up to him to push or Filipowski looking him off when he's bottled up on the perimeter.
WCJ's stats across his 9 postseason games last year were incredible:
33.4 MPG
21.8 PTS
3.4 REB
3.8 AST
0.4 BLK
1.1 STL
2.9 TO
.687 TS (insane, especially given how much he creates for himself)
.475 FG (6.2-13.1)
.458 3P (3.7-8.0)
.500 2P (2.6-5.1)
.911 FT (5.7-6.2: more FTA than 2PA)
