the bolded. no it's literally not. 18 and 7 for a frosh in a top conference is objectively good. there has literally never been a freshman basketball player in the history of college basketball who put up at least 18 and 7 in a top 4 conference who didn't have a good freshman season...

ace didn't play poorly at rutgers. the only people who think he played poorly are the ones who overthink it by getting too deep into the weeds. if one didn't like him as a prospect, this is probably the reason why - too much overthinking. the fact is, he averaged 18 and 7 on 46% FGs, and was...

matching KD's rookie season is fairly realistic for any really good rookie. where KD is going to start to leave any other prospect in the dust is his second season. he took a major leap in year two and the rest is history. but his rookie year, for somebody who was so dominant in college is...

harkless got run in the first game. but yeah, seems like tonje needs to see some time here soon.

Hard Willy, please give the Keyonte, Ace, Taylor, Lauri, Kessler starting lineup a chance and a long leash.

yeah that's what i'm saying when i suggest that having flip in the starting lineup could make sense. but i was mostly trying to clarify what you'd do.

so you'd probably go flip over hendricks in that scenario? there is a part of me that wants hendricks to start at all costs, but in terms of balancing lineups, not only would flip being with that starting group be helpful in terms of playmaking, but it replace a horrendous defender in flip...

i've been one of cody's biggest detractors, but i think you pick up his third year. just far too early to give up on him. for me personally, he showed enough in summer league that you hang on for now.

amen is like russ if he were 4 inches taller and he also reminds me of zion in terms of his ability to find the ball near the rim in positions to get easy open dunks and layups and overpower smaller players for easy paint buckets. he's just always hanging around near the paint and he knows...

this. and nba offenses know how to create spacing and get guys looks. if it were just a matter of not letting guys be open, guys like grayson allen and aj green would never get shots. and to cy's point, with his size and release, he doesn't need much space anyway.

yup. i think his intentions were admirable - take a ****** program and bring it to the top. it just proved a lot harder than his 17 year old underdeveloped brain could fathom.

sort of. HH hit the nail on the head above. he's able to play different because he has spacing and competent teammates around him. he got more open shots without a defender right in his grill last night than he did all last season at rutgers - still shooting jumpers (wasn't putting it on...

I was a huge fan of sexton and yeah, he could pass. but he also got his own (and was good at it - again huge fan of the dude). my point was these guys arent going to take shots from the young players.

while the jazz will be terrible this year (yay!), it is a pretty fun mix of vets and youngsters. you can tell the veterans don't have any expectations - they were all more than willing to let the youngsters fly. nurkic 5 shots, love 3 shots, anderson 3 shots - and they are all very good...

the defense was nightmarish. very hard to watch. we are going to have to convince ourselves to love offensive basketball and focus on that side of the court this year. kessler will help, but they will be horrendous.
