to me that was jalen johnson the year before last. there were some indications he might be special (and Lauri was two years younger), but it was still a risk for the team taking him because he wasn't anything to write home about yet. the only way you get a guy like that is by taking a pretty...

wiggins hadn't played an nba game making it nothing like Castle, perhaps a little like Harper. but all it takes is for a guy to look great in their own jersey and the coaches and front office become enamored and they over value already valuable commodities. it's a lot easier to trade a guy...

I'm not even going to say you're wrong. but 20 yo dudes of Castle's caliber (i mean, we're talking about a near 20 and 8, 6'6" elite athlete PG in his second season, who is a legit defender - those guys don't come around every day - as fish said, Harper might be more realistic than Castle and...

my dude is averaging 19, 6 and 8 - in his second season following up his ROY season - and he's a plus defender who can defend at least 3 positions. that's a pipe dream.

yup we are officially in that no-man's land where Lauri is a lot better and means more to us, than he can command from other teams. it would take a Harper type deal (or Ausar and a couple firsts) for the Jazz to move him and the Spurs/Pistons simply won't do that. basically he's impossible...

yeah, he's dealt with an injury. so those stats are a small sample - only played 6 games so far.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

i haven't read this thread much, but this class is absolutely insane. any one of AJ, Peterson or Boozer could very easily fall out of the top 3, even top 5 - and they've all been great. this class is that good.

oh sorry. yeah, i agree 100%.

yeah, that's tough. we could quibble over whether or not they SHOULD include Harper in a deal, but there is zero chance that they will. teams always overvalue their young draftees, especially when they show some of the promise Harper has shown this season. I mean, 14, 4 and 4 in 23 minutes a...

    Ace Bailey ROY watch

i understand and agree with your point to an extent. it is a cherry picked, aged-based "record", no question. but it also isn't THAT obscure, random or specific. 20 ppg is a pretty general line to draw. the 4 threes is a tad more specific/cherry picked, but it's just two numbers that are...

i've had the same thought. i don't remember him shooting it that quick in college. but yeah, at least for now it's working. if he can shoot it that fast - at his size - and it goes in, well he might be pretty good!

Isiah Collier Hype and Appreciation Thread

14, 6 and 11. Since he's been back, it's clear his ability to make plays and find guys in scoring position is unique on this roster. I'm the biggest Collier apologist on the board and even I wondered if there simply wasn't a place for him in the guard rotation with Key and WCJ. I...

What does an improved Keyonte look like?

yup. seems hard to sustain 10 FTA/gm, but at the same time, one would expect his 3pt% to come up quite a bit as well. just have to hope the decrease in FTA and the increase in 3pt% keep his TS% somewhere in the high 50s or low 60s. it's clear he's put in the work on his body and that is...

Keyontae George progression watch this year

I said in another thread, maybe the key appreciation thread - not sure - that after a 17 and 6 season on 54% TS, he needed to get himself to around 18/19 ppg and 58% this season. sitting at 23 and 8 on 61% TS right now. I'll take it.
