Deron Williams - Andrew Bogut - Terrance Jones

We need to jump on this and at least get one of these guys. It would totally make up for the Jazz not making any trades and would be just as good.

Agreed. I would happy with any of them.
Probably happiest with picking up dwill, followed closely by Jones. Would be happy with bogut too but not as much as the other two guys.

We need size and rebounding more than anything. Would be disappointed if we didn't consider Bogut. Wanted to land him over the summer. I like what Boris does for chemistry but 6'8" and 4 rebounds per 36 next to Lyles holy ****.

I would give Jones a run. I am not sure he is better than what we could get out of Favors and Lyles at the 4 but it is worth a try. Worse case he plays very little and is gone next year. We have extra money to spend. Unless we think we can extend Hill to get a future discount, which is the best thing we could spend our money on.

Bogut could help a little in the playoffs, not sure he is that much help unless Favors in unable to play in the playoffs.

I dont see any need or reason to pick up DWill for the teams sake unless the team thinks Hill wont be healthy and ready to go in the playoffs. Next year I do not want DWill on our team.

He is not good enough to be a starter and getting worse and Exum will need all the backup minutes. If we dont re-sign Hill and we cant get a solid starting PG and we start Exum I guess DWill would be a good backup if we get him for cheap. Although I would rather re-sign Hill or get another PG to try and start either in trade of a FA like Collison.

At this point in his career, is Bogut an upgrade over Withey? When given the chance, Jeff has played pretty well.

As for DWill, I disagree, Ron. The Jazz DO need him. Look how many games Hill has missed. And the toe continues to bother him. Are we really comfortable with an Exum/Neto (or Mack) rotation? That's just giving away a game if Hill is out. With DWill, Jazz can give Hill some nights off to keep him fresh and/or treat the inflammation in his toe.

No. He's not better than Favors at C either.

I think Quin is mismanaging minutes. Favs needs to play around 15. He's been ineffective when playing 25:per in successive games. If Quin doesn't like Withey, then play Favs only at the 5. And give Gobert some rest. He shouldn't be playing in the high 30's.

Move JJ to PF full-time. JJ, Trey and Boris split the minutes there.

Because DWill has been healthy this year? He is just as likely to miss games and will miss games. Also we are not going that far this year. We are not winning a championship, why sacrifice your future for help in the playoffs. Hill is more likely to walk if we bring in DWill. Developing Exum is a much bigger priority for our future than bringing in an insurance player for Hill going down and having DWill will hurt/slow down Exums development. We are just barely starting to see what a full strength Exum can do. We can rest Hill as needed just fine during the regular season and let others play. Exum has been playing well in lately and DWill has been struggling/out with injuries lately.

That means the whole crew of PF's are anchored to the ground. T-Jones is an above average athlete at PF just about anyway you look at it.

If the Jazz want Deron Williams, they should just claim him off waivers and then waive Mack. Don't they have plenty of cap space to do both?

Yup... if that is the plan then great... if the reported non-interest is the case then I'd remain salty as hell.

Oh my ****ing god!!! Are we really talking these three!!? Jazzfanz has lost their collective mind!!

Where to begin?

1. Faves is better then Jones, and Lyles soon will be as well, I hope, but won't happen with jones around, also Jones can't shoot worth beens.

2. Someone said Bogut would be an upgrade to Withy. This may be true, but he's old and as likely to miss 60+ games next year as he is to be better then Withy. No thanks.

3. Do I really have to talk about this assbutt!!? He's been as injured as Hill. Williams is a starter and won't be happy coming off the bench, he has a surly attitude as it is what if midway through the season he feels he should start over Hill. This would cause division in the locker room. Also, getting Williams, does this mean we are giving up on Exum?

Just stop!!

Exum's development is a concern, but I'd put our 1st priority as trying to get past the first round, to give ourselves the best chance possible of keeping Hayward and Hill. Just because we aren't winning a ring doesn't mean we don't have a lot to lose. The biggest thing for me that Deron brings is someone who can handle the ball under pressure situations. Right now I don't really trust anyone except Hill. Deron could definitely help this team win games, and if anything, bringing in Deron makes it more likely Hill returns. Deron isn't going to start in front of him.

You are right about 2 and 3. Terrence Jones is a viable option though, the only ones who lose out are Lyles and Diaw, they can still start Favors and give him respectable minutes as long as T-Jones gets a legit 20-25mpg off the bench...

If it doesn't work you cut him.. there's still time to integrate in a new piece. Jones brings energy...
