What the hell happens now? Do we try to sign Porter?

We give GH 7 years of support, becomes an All-Star and he bolts.

Moneyball. Try to figure out how to replace his production (especially offensively) for as cheap as possible. Still look at upgrading at PF if possible. Hope for a jump from Hood and Exum and Mitchell. Play great defense. Play as a team having fun. Rudy is now the unquestioned franchise player for the Utah Jazz. Build around him.
 
What now? Brace for another few years of zero expectations of anything fun. The BRIGHT SIDE is at least we have a coach with some young talent and not Tyrone Corbin and a bunch of older bums. But Hayward leaving ruined the Jazz completely. He's a loser and should be hated by Utah fans for the remainder of his career for being such a traitor.
 
Most likely, J.Ingles takes over the SF spot. Probably Gobert at C, Favs at PF, Hood at SG and Rubio at PG. Spacing will be a problem with this one so Joe Johnson might start instead. I'm more worried that we might have to rely a LOT more on Favs and his checkered health. Hope he's up for it. Either way this might be a way to let guys like Exum, and Mitchell get playing time. But I won't lie, I'm so pissed right now I might kick a dog right now and I LOVE dogs.

Gordo will be hated by the fans here, there's no doubt about that. Jazz are not forgivable in these situations
 
Either

1) Keep the team together, sign some veterans to replace him, finish 6-10 in the west every single year... And eventually probably lose Rudy and rebuild.

Or

2) Burn it down. Trade all of the vets and big contracts except for Rudy for assets. Let Rudy and the young guys run the team while we retool with assets, cap space and hopefully decent picks.

We DESPERATELY need to do #2. But knowing the Jazz they will probably do #1. The future went from extremely bright to f***** in the blink of an eye. We were so close to a championship. It's so frustrating.
 
I really thought at the very minimum he could agreed to a sign and trade to help us out.
 
hood has to step up. maybe hood will be at hayward's level soon. who knows?

we never thought hayward would average 20 ppg
 
See what the team can do. Quin needs to change his system up and run more. Take advantage of Rubio's passing and try to bring some more shooters on.

If we can't get Porter or Gallinari, maybe take a salary dump from someone. I'd think about Allen Crabbe if we can get Portland's 1st round pick this year (not protected).

We really need Exum to be a solid spot-up shooter now. He could be getting big minutes with Hayward out.
 
okay. **** hayward. exum will be amazing. mitchell will be amazing too. hood will average 20 this season. exum wanted the opportunity. here it is. prove it to us
 
I knew this was coming freaking years ago but nobody would back me. We should have gotten a pick for him last summer. But we lose players for nothing...

Now, we look to play the kids. Take a salary dump by sending out JoeJ and Favors. Get assets. Our future is still so bright.
