Central tank command : the official thread

Ah, Lin is a proven PG. Don't you remember Linsanity? They made a movie about it. It was about how Jesus made it all happen. I expected you out of all people to know this.
I don't doubt Lin is a good player but he gets injured all the time. Brogdon is tough and reliable and is on the up.

We need to follow up last night's strong effort by acquiring some mediocre GLeaguers and JLIII and give them extended minutes. Lets keep Rudy, Joe Jesus and Dante on the shelf the rest of the year.

Beverly out for the year. The clips gonna out tank us.

Memphis is dropping like a rock. Clippers are floundering. Unfortunately, I see the Jazz noticing that they only have to beat out the Lakers and Pelicans to make the Playoffs.

Maybe the Jazz could trade Favors to Cleveland for the right to swap picks with the BK pick. That would be like Favors and #11 for #6 or #7.

Moving Favors would keep us in the lottery and move us up from 10 or 11 to 6 or 7.

No team would ever do that for Favors. That's just guaranteeing you dont get a top 3 pick.

Clips tank is in full swing!

Wanna hear something great about having Gaywarts? We played one series against Rivers Sr., Baby Rivers, Stevie BALLS, and the Clippers Franchise and all the players either ran as fast as they could or sunk with the SS Beverley. Oh yeah... that game 7 was a blast! I would watch it again even knowing a certain someone had as weak of integrity as he had ankles.

What?

Bold prediction:

IF Lebron leaves Cleveland:
Utah trades the rights to their pick (as long as it was lottery, but isn't top-4), plus Burks, Sefolosha and Jerebko for Kevin Love. Cavs would then just decline options on Sefolosha and Jerebko. Burks doesn't have much value, so the deal is basically Love for a pick in the 8-12 range. Probably a better deal than Cleveland would get anywhere else. They'd be rebuilding and have TWO lottery picks (Utah's and BKN's). Of course, they're trading for whoever Utah drafted since the draft is before free agency and they'd want to keep Love if LBJ decided to stay.

Say it with me, *Favors has no first round pick value unless you are taking back a terrible contract*.
IMO, it's not so much that he doesn't have 1st round value; it's that he only has 1st round value to a contender (i.e late 1st-round value) and few contenders could easily trade back $12M in salary. I'll bet GS or Cleveland would welcome Favs on their teams and gladly give up a pick in the very late 20's.

In Cleveland, they could go big with Love moving back to PF. Or stay with Love/Crowder and bring Favors off the bench. In GS, he'd clearly be an upgrade at the 5. Cleveland has Frye (expiring) + fillers + a first. However, GS doesn't have any contracts they could trade that Utah would want.

But is a pick at 28-30 really worth much? My guess is Lindsey is searching for a shooter that a losing team wants to give up for expirings + other assets. So Favors and some of Utah's other expirings may be more valuable in a package.
