It feels like forever since the Jazz played last.

Thunder have won the first two meetings and are favored by 4.5.ar tonight.

Markief Morris could play his first game with the Thunder. They signed him after he was traded from Washington and waived.

It was first reported that Exum was ready to return, then reported he was out.

Westbrook has a streak of 10 consecutive triple doubles.

So excited to have a game to talk about. Go Jazz.

I'm strangely pessimistic about the stretch run, but hopefully everything starts clicking and we roll into the playoffs.

Excited to be back though, would be shocked if we got this one tonight.

The Jazz must have the worst team of trainers ever in sports. The original report was Exum would be out two weeks, then right after the break, then they said he was playing, then he was out again. WTF, was it something other than a Spain?

Curious to watch this team down the stretch. I don't think they were playing with the same enthusiasm or energy they were last season. Even with the soft schedule a run like last season seems unlikely to me.

I wonder what impact if any to expect from Rubio and Favors who got traded ib the news for two weeks before staying put. Or from Joe who has been worrying about his son but cleared the air so to speak with the announcement. And i wonder what Gobert and Mitchell feel watching every team in front of them in the standings improve while Jazz stood pat again.

But chemistry doe

I try to refrain from bagging on injured players, but Exum has played only 4 more Jazz games this season than Kyle Korver. Year after year, some "freak" injury sends him to the bench for weeks or months. I like the dude, but this crap is getting old. He is sitting at 39 games played for the year, so what is the over/under of him breaking 50?

That’s a really paradoxical question. Almost a trick question. On one hand you’d say he’s very injury prone and wouldn’t break 50, but on the other hand he’s good at breaking stuff. It’s like God making a burrito so hot even he can’t eat it.

There is a jazz game watch party going on tonight at bout time in Jordan landing for anyone interested.
The jazz dancers will be there and they are giving away some stuff including an autographed Jersey (idk whose).
Im doubtful to go cause babysitters but thought I would put it out there for everyone else.

If you do go, they have one of the best cheese steaks around and have an amazing appetizer of stuffed jalepenos. Oh and they probably have the best fry sauce ever. It has garlic in it and is fantastic.

Hmm sounds tempting..

It's hard to know what to make of a statement like this -- partly because when do you draw the line?

If you go back a year, the Jazz were in 10th place, 2.5 games behind where they are now (in a virtual 6th/7th tie). Seems like the Jazz have improved.

If your point of reference is last summer, sure the Jazz didn't do much. But neither did "every team in front of them in the standings" improve. Houston has taken a dive. Denver really didn't "do" anything except allow for internal improvement (well they signed an Iowa State guy who turned out to be better than our Iowa State signing). Spurs (if we allow for looking at the team tied with the Jazz) have not improved. Portland essentially ran it back once again.

If we mean the in-season trading/buyout period, Spurs, Warriors, and Nuggets did nothing that I'm aware of. Rockets fiddled around a bit and may have stabilized the backup center position in addition to mainly getting off bad contracts. But they're still much worse than a year ago. Blazers got Hood for a fairly similar trade package to the one that netted us Korver (I'm happy enough with our addition). We weren't going to sign Kanter no matter what. And with OKC's adding of Morris: I'll give you that. It's a real improvement. But no way would the Jazz be adding a Morris brother.

Do you have anyone on the buyout market you've identified that could have moved the needle for the Jazz and who the Jazz would have regarded as a clear upgrade in order to provide playing time over who we already have (and who would have seen a clear path to playing time on the Jazz's roster in order to want to come)?

Damn, I laughed so hard on the bus. Would rep.
