I did, He needs help and spacing. The Rockets chose to eliminate Ingles and defend Mitchell. Basically ignoring Rubio, they really didn't guard him at all. They had 3 guys to guard 2, and they didn't guard Favors or Gobert unless they were diving to the hoop. They essentially put 4 guys in the paint just to stop Mitchell and Ingles' playmaking thereby making life really difficult on Mitchell.
Replace Rubio with Thompson and all of that goes away. Replace Rubio with Kemba and most of that goes away, but he doesn't space the floor as well as Thompson, and he doesn't defend as well as Rubio or Thompson.
Nothing like Ingles really.

Correct more like a seriously upgraded Korver that plays a lot better on both ends of the floor.
Korver is a homeless man's Klay, or Klay is bezos' korver.

The decision for me almost entirely comes down to whether or not you think Donovan Mitchell at PG can work. If he was able to play the point and get himself 6 assists a game or something, or at least be a player where even if his scoring was off he can still impact a game with his playmaking, it's Klay and it's not particularly close for me. If it's more the Mitchell we saw at the beginning of the season and the Mitchell we saw during the playoffs who just forced a ton of shots and wasn't really able to generate anything easy for his team I'm taking Kemba, as for as good as Ingles is as a secondary playmaker I don't want to rely on him being the defacto PG with Klay and Donovan there.
In reality though only Kemba has a non-zero chance of coming to Utah so I'd pick him, but hypothetically speaking I'd probably take Klay and bank on Mitchell becoming an effective playmaking guard alongside improving his scoring.

Hypothetically for me this would hopefully come from development from Mitchell to be able to drive and collapse a defense while making the right basketball play (he can collapse a defense already but he's not very good at passing to open shooters afterwards, tends to force up bad shots instead). Plus if you can get Exum healthy and able to string together enough games he's the perfect 3rd guard with Klay and DM, but obviously with his healthy history that's a big "if".
With Klay as a lethal Target in Mitchell drives the paint would quickly open up. That's how we killed teams, when the 3 pt shot was falling. When it wasn't falling they could collapse the middle and take it all away. Our O requires outside shooting to be effective. The Houston series was a proof of that. If we had Klay not only would our D get better but the threat of the wide open 3s we generate would pull 1 defender out of the paint permanently and usually another as they rushed him or tried to double. You'd see lobs increase and better looks at the rim. Mitchell, ingles, and Gobert would have a hay day.

This is news to me. Mitchell gets there all the time, even Ingles gets there now and again and Gobert not only led the league in ducks but it’s the most since they started keeping track of that stat. Still think it’s a massive problem? Hell even Exum (rest in peace)drove to the hoop.

But we need more perimeter players who can put pressure on the rim. Look at the teams that are still playing well in the 2nd round. A common theme: two perimeter ball handlers who can break you down and get to the rim efficiently. And it isn't like Kemba doesn't have serious gravity as a 3-pt shooter.. Like, he has plenty.
