Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

I still feel like Luguentz Dort is being undervalued in this draft. I've been watching more of Arizona State and man he has a great first step on drives. He blows by defenders with it. He's got good enough size especially with his physicality. Explosive leaper. He gets to the line. He's creative with ball off the dribble. This guy could be the offensive spark the Jazz need.
perhaps the least efficient scorer in the entire draft.

There are so many of these guys I would rather have than using all our cap space and this pick and more for two years and $70 million of Mike Conley.

That’s because your favorite things are unknown assets and having enough cap space to endlessly speculate on things that could be. Real time results and production always takes a backseat for you.

Shams Charania retweeted this for some reason. I know they're both with The Athletic, so maybe I'm reading too much into it lol

I have to admit Davis looks impressive. He would be a very good pick up in the second round especially if the Jazz are going to let Neto go

NFL has it right when they have free agency before the draft. If the jazz convinced tobias Harris to sign in Utah they wouldnt need to give up asset to move and draft clarke.

Now if they do move up and draft Clarke Harris might see that as the jazz move for their future of and not want to sign.

More ifs then I like but you just have to do what is given to you

Lmfao.

It's hilarious anyone thinks signing Harris, or any other FA, would influence the Jazz's draft. Or that Harris would choose not to sign because of Clark. It's just flat out ignorance.

I love him, but he kind of sucks as of now.

He's not really an explosive leaper. He's a terrible finisher and a very bad shooter. He's athletic and has a gigantic body for his size.

I'd be very happy with him at 23, but I'd be very surprised if he played much at all (like less than Allen played this year)

I agree that he's not a good basketball player right now and wouldn't play much if at all in his first season. I'm okay with that though. He's an upside pick in my eyes. If the mental side of his game catches up with the raw tools he could end up being a nice player

I don't think it's mental. He's a smart player. He just doesn't score. He's a Marcus Smart type but to a higher degree of bad offense. His shot isn't hideous though, so he could get better there. He just really shoots a moon ball.

It's just hard to see him becoming an average finisher at the NBA level given how bad he was in college.

The thing with him is just how far along can you get his PG skills, his shooting, and his defense. I don't see high upside as in scoring.

Paschal is very meh to me. Bad stocks %. Is he a defender at the NBA level? His shot has a hitch, so I don't think he is going to be a consistent shooter. Ok length for a 4, but not great.

6'7", 250 lbs, 7' wingspan, averaged 16.5/6, shot 35% from 3pt. He's a 2nd-round pick and a backup PF, but if you ask me, I don't think Grant Williams is all that much better. Williams did a lot of his work in the post, and I don't think much of it is going to translate.

Williams is leaps and bounds better.

That's garbage and you should know it. I always provide my plans and contingency plans.

I've been on record saying this before, but I'll say it again - I would rather have Rozier at $20 million (which I know is an overpay) AND our 2019 1st AND whoever we have to add on in addition to our draft pick(s) AND the salary money difference between the two than Mike Conley at $70 million over the next two years.

I could provide you with 15-20 ways I would rather use our cap space than sink it all into Conley. And, oh yeah, losing yet another 1st round pick on a PG on a short term deal.

Preferring to spend $20 million so that Rozier can go full Rubio without any of the passing skills. And keeping our pick to get Grayson Allen 2.0 in a weak draft instead of getting a star guard who could elevate every player in our offense. But it’s true, we would have slightly more cap flexibility. Another Jerebko would really get us where we need to be.

I think you’ve proven my point.

Conley isn’t the only, or my favorite offseason acquisition possibility. But my god, Rozier and the 23rd pick is your preference?? $20 million???

I would rather have Rozier, Exum, #23, and cap space than Mike Conley.

Cry about it. I don't care. Mike Conley is a knee jerk reaction to stay in the middle. When Conley leaves in 2 years after compromising all our cap space for 2019 AND 2020, everybody will be complaining about missing out on the Schofield, Reid, Edwards, Samanic, whoever we could have drafted at #23.

There are 10 or 15 things I would rather have happen than getting Rozier with our cap space. However, I would take it over trading assets and probably twice as much cap space for Mike (doesn't even want to be in Utah) Conley.

Jazz can have 30+ million in cap after signing Gobert and Mitchell in 2021 if they get Conley. Calm your *** down

Yes, adding a top 10 PG is about staying in the middle vs keeping the 23rd pick which has about a 1% chance of ever being as good (and that's as eventually, not right away) Mike Conley.

You got to stop with acting like anyone who thinks your ideas are dumb are people who just want to "be in the middle", especially when your ideas involve the Jazz getting not good players or late 1st rounders
