Jazz To sign William Howard

Goes to show that our picks will be on the road with the Stars this year to get them some development time. Pretty apparent during SL that some time in the system will help them.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

NBA scouts are everywhere. It is tough for legitimate NBA talent to fall through the cracks. I'm hoping for somewhere between Niang and ONeal. If I'm feeling crazy, somewhere between ONeal and Ingles the last year of his contract.

He has an Inglis for a French teammate who was the 1st pick in the 2nd round of the 2014 NBA draft. I think it's a sign.

I'm good with that. We can't expect much from a guy who will on the end of the bench. He will not be Ingles, but if he turns into another Royce? Cool.

If we are extremely lucky.

Again, we can't genuinely expect much from a EOB type of guy. He has some tools there to work with and we'll see what the Jazz do for his development. If we're lucky, he turns into a rotation player on the cheap while we get his bird rights at the end of a deal (assuming three years). If not, we aren't out much. Low risk/moderate reward situation.

The three Jr. Jazz guys I remember as a kid were Corbin, Thurl, and Crotty, which two are some pretty big names for doing Jr. Jazz.
I remember DMC when he did it and showed up to an event for my kid. He was fun, active and engaged with the kids. A genuinely nice dude. Great representative for the team. One of the reasons I was/am/will always be a “Junkyard Dawg” homer.

I still remember in 2013 when the local rec center advertised a Jr. Jazz event at the local high school and hyped that the player attending was over 7 feet tall.

We were hoping for Rudy (who was still a raw rookie bouncing between the Jazz and the D-league) but got Andris Biedrins instead. It was a disaster. Guy clearly had no interest in being there with the kids. I think he was cut a few weeks later.

This is not a bad thing. The Spurs use their G-League team to season their rookies more than any other franchise in the league. It’s a great plan to model. Let them PLAY featured roles in a similar system while they train and build their bodies and skill set.

I could see him getting a TC shot with little to no guarantee; and if he doesn’t make it, Jazz keep his G-League rights with the Stars. They can squat on 4 guys like that, as long as they’re not signed to an NBA or 2-way deal with another team.
No such thing as G League rights. I highly doubt this dude is willing to make 25k a year in the gleague
