The official "let's reelect Trump" thread

You honestly think that meme was popular because the media didn't like Obama? Dude, there are obviously different possible interpretations because I'm certain it meant different things to different people, but your interpretation is a real stretch.

edit: I just noticed that you were responding to a claim that the media was 93 negative on Obama. I think that's hyperbole, but there is no question that the media painted Obama more positively than any other recent president.
He behaved more positively as well.
Do you think how a president behaves affects how the media treats them? Do you think it should?

My answer is yes to both questions.

I think Obama DID get very favorable treatment from the media. They didn't go after issues they very easily could have to focus on many of the negative aspects of his Presidency. Shame on them.

But it's confusing, because it seems the argument now (by Trump supporters) is that the media should ignore issues with Trump's Presidency, not that the media should always be critical of the current administration.

Just like it seems like a frequent counter to absolute misbehavior by Trump is that Hillary did whatever (emails, Benghazi, Uranium One). But what they fail to acknowledge is that each of those issues was thoroughly looked into, thoroughly reported on, none of it has been hidden or ignored, all semi-conscious Americans know a good amount of the details of those situations. But that's not good enough for many Trump supporters because they've been fed this idea that the emails were not investigated and/or they were but Hillary used her jedi superpowers to make everyone not understand what they were looking at and just let her go. Or fed the lie that the U.S. sold uranium to Russia. Or fed the lie that Hillary was in on the attack on the embassy in Benghazi, and/or obstructed the military response to the attack by making soldiers change uniforms a half-dozen times in a direct effort to prevent an effective response.

So because we all didn't do what they think we should have done in regard to Hillary's failings we should never again do anything about Trump's behaviour. He gets a free pass now. It's only fair.

While I'm not an Obama fan, there is no doubt that Fish is on the money about this. Imagine who you have to compare him with: Clinton, W, and Trump. Clinton was a sleezy, smooth talker who fooled a lot of people (Obama too, not sleezy but smooth, and he wasn't openly cheating on his wife), and struck the deal that gave us NAFTA and opened the floodgates of illegal immigration. W who was a puppet of Cheney and the right wing, and got us into a horrible war. And the dirty deal himself, DDT.

So since Trump behaves less positively then you think the media ought to do stories trying to shaming for anything they can think of, like eating fast food?

Since Obama behaved more positively you think they should fail to run stories about negative personal habits he might have, like smoking?

IMO the media loved Obama's politics and as a result treated him very kindly. Those same people hate Trump's politics and as a result they treat him very badly, including making up negative stories about him.

For a little context here, there was a time Obama said there were like 47 or 53 states, whatever way it went he got the number wrong. That was a stupid thing to say, and his haters got a TON of play out of it. That was a funny joke in the anti-Obama crowd for like months.

Let that sink in a little bit. That was like one of the stupidest things Obama ever said.

Then there was the "I will have more flexibility after the election." That is still getting play. That is still bandied about when Trump says or does something particularly stupid/confusing/anti-U.S. in regard to Russia.

So like that's Obama's list of really big stupid comments.

We can only talk about Trump's stupidest comments for a day or two because another one is on the way and will distract us from the last one before any of them cement themselves into our memory.

That's what we're dealing with. And Trump supporters and his supposed non-supporters (who are just so sick and tired of how outraged the rest of us are that they feel compelled to stand up for him exclusively and repeat the same tired B.S. actual Trump supporters say over and over again) are crying that the media is overly negative about Trump. That's some dumb ******** right there. Like it's so dumb I don't think they actually believe the things they say.

Trump does actual negative things that deserve to be talked about. He does them often. To point out the 1% of negative coverage that is overblown or misrepresents the facts in an effort to ignore the 99% of things Trump ABSOLUTELY DOES AND SAYS is dishonesty, intentional dishonesty. And either the people saying it have been fooled by the dishonesty because they are stupid AF, or they know it is dishonest and they are actual pieces of **** humans who love the truly dark agenda that many Trump supporters are actually all about.

I don't agree with everything in this post, but it's a good post nonetheless. Also, Obama has had plenty of gaffes, not just 2 or 3, but for comparison purposes I definitely get what you've saying.

Act like a douche get treated like a douche.
My parents taught me that there were consequences to my behavior when I was like 3 years old.
Apparently some people now think you should be able to act horribly and treated kindly or fairly for the horrible behavior.

I'm certain his haters are going to try to completely ignore it, but central figures in the Russia investigation are coming under investigation and the results so far are not looking good. It appears to be a case of extreme cronyism where liberal government officials and liberal media members were ginning up stories, cutting corners, and creating their own facts in an all-out effort to take Trump down. Those of you who believe he deserved to be destroyed by any means available aren't going to care, but fortunately some people can still recognize the serious problems in the way this entire thing was handled.

This was a great post. I remember Obama getting blasted on fox news for some really overblown stuff on the reg. He was not handled with kid gloves. However, i do happen to think he should have faced more criticism by some liberal editorialists for consistently being, as OB would say, PWPB.

And sure, that kind of overblown ******** stuff is happening with Trump too but, come on guys, every president gets it and the rest is legit. He deserves the lion share of negative press coverage he gets. If he, Heathme, and Joe want less negative coverage, I think you should know what needs to happen. The problem is that honest self-evaluation seems to be a severe weak point of your ilk.

That doesn't address my post.
I said I think that people who behave badly should get treated badly.

I don't ever recall main stream people praying for a recession or praying for a hurricane to kill people just to destroy property under Obama. Maybe some extremest, yeah, but not a good chunk of the party. There is a terrible sickness among some on the left(right too) including a poster or two here.

Link to main stream media praying for a recession, please?

I believe that everyone should be treated honestly, even if they are dishonest. I think the anti-Trump crowd has made a big mistake believing they can throw out all the rules with regard to their handling of him.

These people live in such a twisted reality. Watch how happy Nicolle Wallace is about the prospect of a recession:

You're seeing what you want to see there. No one there was praying for a recession. No one there said they'd prefer a recession to continued prosperity.
