DANTE TRADED TO CAVS

Al Horford at $100M was a bad signing by Philly. They were trying to grab a player and hurt their rival Boston at the same time, but it's now biting them in the ***.

Doesn’t matter if it was good or not. Teams do dumb **** all the time.

He had 33 pts in 30 mins last Friday vs. Memphis, including 6/8 from 3pt. He's had a number of big scoring games. Scoring is what he does.
Ok....

He can't do that any given night. You can say that about dudes who have put up 20 ppg seasons, not about a dude who has had a couple of 15 ppg seasons on bad teams.

So you think paying $28M/year to a guy who puts up 13/7 and can't guard out on the floor is a good idea?
Can't guard? What are you smoking?

If you're looking at basic stats, then yeah you going to think Horford blows. The dude is still a top IQ defender and passer who makes teammates markedly better on both ends.

Maybe at the 5. At the 4, he's a liability because he's a limited driver, limited shooter, and limited defender out on the floor. There's a reason that Danny Ainge let him walk.

He lost him. He isnt a liability at all. The dude is a monster. I'd kill to have him at his contract for the Jazz.

Please point me to these excuses. Because for the life of me, when people have asked me why Dante hasn’t been playing, my answer has been “because he’s not in the rotation”.....

Hallelujah...we're finally moving on from Lindsey's folly. All Hail the reign of Zanik!
We got something for nothing and got out of that contract. And we now have a very tradeable player in Clarkson.

I'm interested to know whether Cavs view him as having potential and giving him significant NBA minutes or whether they were simply going after the asset play.
