Healthiest countries in the world.... USA ranks 35th

You can blame more than one thing for something silly

Some people have health problems that have nothing to do with their diet or amount of exercise. Have you ever heard of cancer?

Right now I'm sitting in a hospital room because my 3 year old is having surgery on her eyes in about 30 minutes. She doesn't need surgery because she has a poor diet or because she doesn't get enough exercise.

I have to come up with thousands of dollars to pay for it somehow even though I pay hundreds of dollars every month for insurance.

fingers crossed, good luck dude. What's she having done ??? (this is my field)

You all do know what a real fiscal conservative is right? I know others here claim to be yet don't practice it, but I'm actually preaching it.

Sure. A real fiscal conservative is one who only wants the government to spend money that helps them out.

Free loading is not my thing. I'm against adults not having a sense of responsibility. Participation trophy's just teach these people how to be lazy and irresponsible but that has become the Democratic party. Buying votes by promoting laziness. I work for what I have and am proud of it.

Chuckle.

They basically cut away and removed some muscles in each eye and re-attached them in a different location. She had one eye that would wander a bit and this surgery should correct that.
Poor girls eyes are bright red right now and hurt. Discharging bloody tears. She is squinting a lot. But the surgery went well and she has been doing great! She is really good about not rubbing her eyes (dont want to tear the stitches out of the incisions) and she is recovering pretty good. Supposed to be about a week to 10 days before she is fully recovered.
I wish i didn't have to work while she recovers so I could take care of her the whole time.

So Bernie says he wants to raise taxes to anybody making $29,000.

He also says he wants to up minimum wage to $15.

$15 an hour for a 40 hour work week is around $31,000. Gotcha there didn't he?

Lol now imagine the tax hikes he promises is 30% so you are now paying $10,000 in taxes making $21,000 a year lol.

Ok so that 30% is low according to many different sources, so let's say he taxes minimum wage workers 35% so now you are making $19,000 a year.

Average rent for a place in lower end SLC is over $1000 a month according to a quick Google search so that's $12,000 just in rent alone. That's for bottom of the line apartments.

@30% you now have $10,000 dollars
@35% you now have $7,000 dollars

Let's add a measly $100 a month for bills which is extremely low.

@30% you now have $8,800
@35% you now have $6,800

@30% You know have $733 a month without car payment, groceries, and daily essentials, nothing
@35=$566

You're poor as hell now....

Admittedly it's a bit sloppy math but it's an extremely simple example example of how people sadly lose the ability to think because "The Rat" flashed some shiny "everything is free" keys in their faces. It show how little basic economics the typical Socialist understands. Imagine that number going into to 40's as some economist suggest. Imagine being middle class and it being 45%.

At the end of the day how much better off are you? Yeah, the current system is a joke but why in God's name do people want to replace garbage with garbage?

Resorting the the extreme example as an argument. Typical.

That's not how marginal tax rates work Jazzy?

Because we both know thats not how tax rates work. So maybe maybe maybe someone might align with your though activity, but more likely no one would.

Let's see it then. You guys do understand what "raising taxes to anyone who makes $31,000" by Bernies own admission means right. That doesn't mean lower them, it means raise them... You guys think the trillions more a year is going to grow on trees?

When hes actually given more than 30 seconds to speak he can explain things pretty well. Take a listen.

I don't have an hour, lets hear it... Enlighten me on how raising taxes isn't raising taxes, please. I'm not trying to be a jerk here.

Don't act like you're this all knowing policy expert for all the candidates if you aren't willing to actually learn about their policies outside of your infowars screenshots.

It's a tax on the $ you make over a certain amount. In your example it'd be the $2,000 from 29k to 31k (which is currently taxed at 12%). So it'd be a raise in taxes of $360 at your proposed 30% (I unfortunately haven't seen an actual # for this).

Sure, it could be done poorly, but in all the proposals I've seen from anyone moderately progressive it's a net benefit for a large majority of Americans.

And PS I'm not an expert by any means. My example was simple to put things into perspective it's not a awe inspiring know it all piece. It was to put the numbers in front of your face to give people an idea on how as much as you think things will change, they wont.

Now proceed to telling how stupid I am instead of have a rebuttal.
