Exactly what I thought. Ain't gonna please these types. I skim read it... did he mention Ryan's evil plan to donate scholarships to minority students based on wins? I mean why not just do it for losses too? Why can't you just do it anonymously?

He does it for losses, too, he just doesn’t tell anyone so he keeps them motivated. Just like Quin and killing puppies if they don’t win — he kills them when we win, too.
 
My main takeaway is that the government has to tax these people way more so the moral responsibility doesnt lay on them to commit huge amounts of money to charity. They should be forced to pay higher taxes which in turn go more towards social programs and infrastructure rather than wars.
 
Yeah, I don’t think they’re wrong.

Billionaires don’t become billionaires without some amount of questionable practices. Which is just one reason why our system should probably not allow them to exist, but I digress.

If governments could be trusted to use funds wisely and efficiently I’d say this is a great solution. I trust the government about as much as corrupt billionaires... think this would just be re-arranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

Im not being critical... I just think there are not many good answers to create equality. It sucks but greed and power are undefeated.
 
I’m liberal and this article is such BS. So your argument is that because some fans are racist you shouldn’t buy an nba team? Wouldn’t it HELP to have someone who has made it his goal to support anti racist groups and donate money to equal rights communities like Ryan Smith has? There are worse billionaires out there. If you want to stop racism you need the support of white people and you need to bring them into the conversation. Labeling an entire fan base doesn’t help do that.
 
My gut feeling was that it was very one-sided in a mean-spirited way and speculative about people's motives. I was a bit troubled by his characterization of Qualtrics, however. I would like to learn more about the company and what it does and how it became so successful doing what it does.

Question is

Governments at all levels anywhere (in the US, UK, France, Brazil, etc) are constituted in its vast majority by people funded by billionaires, when not these people themselves run for the representative spots, be it for a mayor, governor, deputies, senators, presidents, prime ministers, and anything else.

Governs "corruption" and "ineptude", as also broken projects and ways to run things, especially when they part from the higher ranks of the government, they aren't accidental failures, but projected ones.
 
There is some truth in the article. Ryan Smith would buy Patrisse Cullors a new home if it would help the Jazz image, wait he kind of already did. Ryan Smith would exclude kids based on the color of their skin in his scholarship program if it helped his image, again he already did. Be honest, what part of the article upsets you? I think the article is poorly written and a hit job, but it carries truth. Smith is pandering and doing it for business reasons.
 
A good writer can make a convincing author regardless of the content. Whether or not you agree with the meat of what’s presented, he writes with the zeal of a high-school newspaper journalist who can’t seem to understand the value of a second draft.

It’s simply a poorly written article and a copy editor who can’t seem to convince him that it’s garbage.

I'm SURE the scholarship program does not use only a picture of a kid to determine whether they qualify for relief. Smith is changing the image of the Jazz for the better. All racists may show themselves the door and become...I dunno Raiders fans?

Literally that is almost exactly what he's doing. Quoted from NBA.com. Are you insinuating I'm racist? Name 1 part of my statement that was racist. Typical, can't discuss the facts so you throw out the R word.

I agree with this, which is one reason I think the article about Ryan isn't helpful or interesting. It's a lazy hitpiece.

Oh you're one of them...okay. What is your problem with black and brown kids getting access to these scholarships? Being poor sucks, but if you're black or brown, you've got this **** to deal with, too. Let me know if you need help with identifying the context of this pic, pal.
