Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Worst case he’s an adult in the room to help the youngsters. It’s shocking his value is this low. He will have a good month or two and if there’s an injury we will get something for him.
I think it's also likely that a team like the Clippers realizes that John Wall is not the answer there. The only thing that gets tricky is we end up competing with ourselves as we try to offload Beverly as well.

Bev will be traded preseason and isn’t a true pg, so I think his market is different. He also makes less and is expiring so it’s an easier deal. Maybe it’s only seconds if he’s moved by himself… but we will want to gather some good second round picks anyway.

I wouldn't mind if we keep him. He is a focused specialist, and a nutjob, but he would be valuable for the young guys to instill the right passion and defensive intensity we need to win. Wouldn't mind seeing him be the savvy vet to help mold a culture of defense and feisty play with attitude for this next group. Could be worse guys to have in that role. We kind of hoped Conley would fill a role kind of like that, but he was just too nice and easy-going to instill much of anything in anyone. I wouldn't mind at all keeping Bev for that reason. We need that guy. It used to be Joe, imo, and then it was no one because no one listened to Rudy. Bev would be a great one to guide the young guys. I would be all for keeping him in that kind of role.

Bev prides himself on always making the playoffs, and I don't think he'll be happy if he's not in a winning situation. If he was capable of instilling a winning mentality in to our young guys, they likely aren't the right young guys as our contending teams of the future might not include any of our current players.

Even if all they do is get into the negotiations, Orlando is the Dark Horse team to actually put together a real offer to make this happen. The Magic could pretty easily put together a comparable offer of picks and young players that would likely make the Knicks start to get serious in a way that the Nets, Raptors and Heat haven’t yet.

True. I'd think the Orlando picks could be a bit better than the Knicks. Beyond that, the Magic would be a fun team to watch.

I'm just saying it is an option I would be on board with. Maybe with a solid haul of picks, promise of future growth and success, and a strong leadership role in the org he would stick around and be a good culture guy for us as we rebuild.

I have been impressed by Donovan's behavior during this time. Yes, he is in New York but he isn't complaining or any other distracting behavior. He is a wunderkind. Long-term he can be a GM; he has so much discipline. I guess CAA must be helping him too which has a professional team that can help manage things. But the player is the key. Russ Westbrook couldn't handle this. Why can't we keep him on the team?

I just wish he had used that discipline to be a leader on the team and pull us out of the half year funk that tore the team apart rather than being the black hole ball stopper traffic cone that was the catalyst for the rebuild, all apparently because he didn't want to play with the best defensive talent the league has seen in a decade because Rudy was immature and apparently "touched things" and *gasp* called the team out for not playing defense, which was 100% correct. You don't call Donny out on his defense.

Yeah, seems legit.

I don't know what Quin was asking of him. I really don't know. There IS an element where he goes Passive Aggressive. That's the dark side of his personality. I don't think it is common like it is being portrayed here and even if he has moments like this, I do know he eventually talks directly to the other players via players only meetings etc.

Maybe not on the backend since the Magic don’t have any pure ****ing trash signed to NINE DIGIT contract extensions and also have two very promising young players better than Barrett already.

The Knicks SHOULD be terrified of trading unprotected picks, their house is built on sand.

My guess all along is that they're working on bringing in a third time to take care of getting more picks/sending out players. I bet this is the case.
Could mean that. Or it could mean that one of the players in the deal is not yet eligible for the deal (one of the Minny acquisitions, for example) and that they are simply waiting on that to consummate/announce the deal. (Or maybe a combination of both possibilities?).

Or maybe the source is just wrong.

Or they might have made it up. I heard from a reputable source that 64.8% of everything you read online is made up. I think it was Abraham Lincoln.

Jake Fischer says the Jazz are asking for a first round pick for all 3 of Conley, Bogey and Vanderbilt...says that they are receiving more calls about Vanderbilt than any of the other veterans.
Good. Vanderbilt should be worth a decent return if they decide to move him. He’s a 23 year old starting caliber 4 on a decent contract for the next two years. I’d love to keep him, but if you can get a pick with limited protection, it might be worth moving him to a motivated buyer.

I think Conley can fetch a 1st, but I’m not counting on it. I don’t think his contract is too onerous. He’s still a staring caliber player if he’s healthy. Could easily see him as a past of a Westbrook trade and buyout, that would for sure net a good return.

Bogey would hopefully get a decent 1st, even though I think the contract you take back probably isn’t as nice. Regardless, he should get moved to a contending team that needs shooting.

Beverley I think can get you a decent young player with potential and a couple of 2nd round picks. Someone like Matisse Thybulle or Jaxson Hayes.

Clarkson should generate some interest, but I have no idea what you can get for him. Might just keep him for now and trade him at the deadline. Hell, I wouldn’t hate seeing Clarkson starting on a tanking team.

Jazz shouldn’t be too attached to any of the players currently on the roster - that includes JB, Azibuke, Bolmaro or Kessler.
