2023 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread

Remember when I got clowned for saying we should take Duncan Robinson with picks attached?
 
Today Denver play the wrong way for me. Team not enough involved, Jokic want to do it all alone, He might end with 40-45 points and loose the game.
 
The thing i hate most as a fan of an nba team is when i see the defense sagging way off a dude on the perimeter. I dont want guys on my team that the defense doesnt respect from 3. Hence why i dont want anthony black and why im not high at all on the thompsons.

Watching this finals game and seeing miami sagging way off aaron gordon would drive me mad as a nuggets fan.

Nah, they sagged off on him. That is what is frustrating to me as a fan. I hated Rubio for that reason. Sometimes he would go 2-2 on wide open 3's in a game. I still wasn't impressed by those performances as the defense still never respected him and left him open anyway.

MIA FG - 39/96 - 41% vs DEN 40/79 - 51%
MIA 3pt - 13/39 - 33% vs DEN 8/27 - 30%

Game 2
MIA FG 38/78 - 49% vs DEN 39/75 -52%
MIA 3pt 17/35 -49% vs DEN 11/28 - 39%

i always thought Miami should be up 2-0 if they made their shots game 1. they had the right strategy, attack jokic by mid-range jumpers. he just don't defend those kind of shots.

That worked so well for the Celtics
 
Heat are in good shape imo. Caleb Martin still hasnt broken free. Jimmy hasn't had a signature game yet. Denver's bench played exceptionally well due to a lot of errors by Miami and they still lost.

Heat really need to play from ahead so Joker has to feel pressure if self creation. When he gets ahead he can just sit back and play his game, but if you build a lead he can press his own offense.

I'd like to see Miami get Bam in more spots where he can dive to the basket instead of taking tough middy's, but that will probably open up the more shots the perimeter players make.

For Denver I think Jokic has to impact the game as a scorer from the jump in Miami. Put the pressure on early instead of playmaking and build an early lead on the road.

What worked so well for the celtics? I didn't outline some strategy for winning a particular game or series or whatever. I simply said that I, as a fan, hate to see the defenders sagging way off one of my teams players playing on the perimeter.

Also regarding the celtics and "it" (whatever that is) not working for them or whatever, I would be ok if my team finishes with the second best record in the league and makes it to the conference finals game 7. Its not the best result but it isn't horrible either imo.

In this case, that would seem to be you. I was simply posting my opinion as a fan of a team that I hate seeing defenses sag off my teams perimeter players. You brought up the celtics and said it didn't work. wtf. I didn't say anything works or doesn't work or anything about any particular team. again, wtf?
