Bertans is non-guaranteed next year, so he is basically an expiring.
He has 5M guaranteed next year and it’s fully guaranteed if he plays 75% of regular season games this year.

Sorry, which years are what now?He has 5M guaranteed next year and it’s fully guaranteed if he plays 75% of regular season games this year.
It means he looked at stats and probably watched a game.He likes Hendricks better than Walker ... at least that's the impression I got from his pod. No idea if it means anything...
No ceilings guys are bonkers optimistic. I think they are outliers and don’t necessarily consider them like experts. Like they get wild dumb.I actually loved his rant today. Spoke to my frustration with the draftnik sites that in some cases almost completely ignore downsides like No Ceilings. They get access to prospects by glossing over their flaws and it’s a problematic ecosystem.
There was a point made somewhere here about how we should like most of the players cuz why not? The why not is that most players don’t make it so we’re doing nobody any favors by not being critical.
Sorry, which years are what now?
I guess... I'm not very excited to draft such a player this high. Again... especially since we already have one that's plenty good enough to play that role... and probably better than Walker. Jarace is iffy fit with Kessler because they have similar functional negatives offensively. How much is he really adding offensively? And I mean again - think about deep playoff run... what are you relying on him to do? Are we drafting him just for defensive versatility?
Right, so it’s still basically/ mostly an expiring contract. Easy to not play a fringe NBA player 21+ games. This upcoming season it’s guaranteed. If he plays 75% of regular season games this upcoming season his contract is fully guaranteed next year which is the final year of his contract. It has an ETO with only 5M guaranteed if he doesn’t play that 75% of games.
Neither are bad outcomes, but I just really want to see the Jazz be aggressive in this draft since I don't see many good free agent options and this draft looks better than next year so far. Swing for the fences for a change. My current thinking: Plan A = trade up to #5 to nab Whitmore if the price were right (no more than one unprotected pick to swap 5 for 9). Then take Bufkin/JHS/George at 16, then a flier on high upside / high risk at 28 (Rupert, Maxwell Lewis, maybe even GG if he's still there).
Plan B = Assuming Ausar or Black are available at pick 9, take 'em. Then take Whitehead at 16 (assuming medicals check out as "good enough"). Then take a solid 3D prospect at 28 like Colby Jones, Cissoko, or O-Max Prosper.
Ya I my ideal draft without making moves is Hendricks and Hawkins. But if we can get Hendricks and Wallace then that is probably my second choice (since we would have to give up something in that scenario. If we got those two without giving anything up, like wallace falls to 16, then that would be my ideal draft. Assuming we just cant get a good price to move up to pick Cam)Pretty much still in love with getting both Wallace and Hendricks. It still looks entirely possible to me, would probably just require trading up with Dallas. If achieving that outcome just requires using some spare cap space this year and a little next year (and sufficient luck, of course) then I am in.
