We are about to see a crazy offseason I feel, and trader Danny is going big game hunting! I wonder if Ainge has a date set to go hunting out on Karl's ranch, and has his names set for the animals he's about to hunt. Does he have a deer named Klay that he's tracking? Maybe he's got a squirrel named Curry he's aiming at in the trees, or even a wild hog named Dray?

Who else will be on the trade block after these playoffs? I feel there will be plenty other big names to come up.
 
He said he's not interested in dinosaurs, but followed that up with the idea that those type of guys could be stop gaps.

I know this isn't going to happen, but I can't help but wonder what our team could look like with Lebron's passing.

I caught on to that comment as well he mentioned the 7 to 8 year guy.

lol… was thinking about something with DA today. He is the picture that went viral where the dress is either black or blue and everyone swears they see it and it’s clear. He has an ability to say words and then people cling on and hear what they want.

The big game hunting quote has been misquoted. He said if we find another guy we are ready to go big game hunting. He also indicated that if they didn’t find the guy they could go other places. People came away convinced we’d be tanking or that we’d be trading for an all star.

I also saw a lot of people saying “it’s obvious what the plan is…” and then stating what they think the plan is. I literally think DA said plans are worthless everyone wants a plan but there isn’t one plan. Then I hear Locke saying “no plan IS THE Plan”. Okay… I feel like I’m in a Seinfeld episode. “The show is about nothing…” paging @infection

Ainges comments should be taken as entertainment only. I enjoyed it. It’s fun. I don’t blame him. But I also imagine he hears how people interpret his comments and sits in his office like:View attachment 16278

LOL, I was trying to find a seinfield GIF to post on the no Plan is the Plan, but wasn't able to find something and got distracted. The No Plan is the Plan definitely reminds me of "the show about nothing."

I don't distrust everything DA says, and I'm not sure it's that confusing either. What he's said that actions have backed up is that:

- We went in to season 1 of the rebuild thinking we were really bad and then were better than expected so we had to trade players away to be bad get a better draft pick
- We went in to season 2 of the rebuild with the idea that we might be good enough to add a star, but we weren't that good and a star never became available so we had to trade players to be bad and keep our pick.
- (this can be believed or not) We will start the off season with the premise of being able to make the team better, but if that doesn't look promising by the draft/free agency we can pivot

Some of the nuanced stuff is confusing/doesn't make sense, but I believe these high level bullet points based on what has been said and then done.

It’s clear to me he has a couple routes and values flexibility to chase an opportunity. You can see it in his history and in his words. This doesn’t mean he’s an aimless lazy dummy. I think he knows you follow the best opportunity. It’s clear that could be tank sell off stuff or become a buyer.

The thought that he’s flipped the switch and ready to hunt is just not quite what this is. He’s been hunting this whole time. Nothing really changes other than he may cut deeper this time and earlier if things don’t work out for a star move.
