Conspiracy Theory Corner

IMO, getting Ingram isn’t about being competitive next year….its just about getting Ingram for multiple years going forward. It’s the same logic as keeping Lauri.

If we truly wanted to tank head first into tanking hard for 25 and 26, Lauri likely cannot be a part of that. Seems as though the Jazz have made their decision on that, and Lauri has a an extreme amount of sway in terms of staying.

You talk about things already being done before have the possibility of happening again when it comes to Ingram and then the next post say Lauri can not be apart of hard tanking. We went like 5-29 with Lauri though. It's already been done before.

I’m not sure I’m in love with it….but I do find it interesting. I wonder what the follow up would be….are going to roll out Lauri, Sexton, and Ingram with a bunch of kids? Given Ingram’s health record, I’m not sure we even win more games with Ingram vs the duo of Collins/Kessler.

We know that the Jazz wanted Mikal and wanted him badly. I don’t think we wanted him badly to be a high level role player, I think the FO liked Mikal as a high usage key offensive player. Ingram is just better Mikal at being a leading option and is actually younger. There’s no reporting on this, but it stands to reason that if the Jazz wanted to go for Mikal…they would also have interest in Ingram.
One thing on Mikal… that was a package deal if they could get PG too. So you have to keep that in mind when projecting what they wanted the team to look like and roles for guys.

That's fair....but what has been constant throughout this process is 1) we don't want to trade Lauri 2) we have targeted guys of Ingram's level (ish).

He's an employed beat writer for the team, so he has some legitimacy and not just a dude with a blog/podcast
That’s fine. Just think it’s pure speculation grabbed and exaggerated by a known click bait account.

Yeah. I think we’d target higher if they were available. I think we kick the tires on everything but at this point I think we are looking at the tank plus Lauri approach as the most likely approach.

The issue with Ingram is that he's going to want a massive extension after this coming season. It's not a question of who wants him. It's a question of who really wants to pay him. I like Ingram, but in the $40M - $50M range, that's going to be tough, unless it's short term.

I mean, if he plays to his capabilities I would want to pay him.
