I'm glad Lauri is staying.... and I still hope we tank for flagg or ace but it's awesome that a player of his caliber WANTS to sign here. Let's get Flagg or Ace next year and then go all-in.

T.S.: Whoa, she calls you callow in here.
Brodie: You say that like it's bad.
T.S.: Well, it means frightened and weak-willed.
Brodie: Really? ****, that was the only part of the letter that I thought was complimentary.
Good find. I never watched this movie before. I think @Tony Jones's us of the word is more accurate than what this passage says here (at least according to the definitions I can find). It's more inexperienced, young, perhaps reckless than weak or scared.

Was listening to a Tony Jones interview on my drive home today and he was saying that even with podz in the deal the jazz still were saying no. He basically said that there was no deal that could be offered by the warriors that the jazz would have accepted.
Said they didn't have enough or good enough picks.

That's what I said the whole tim. A 3rd team would have had to be involved where that team sent some assets over for Kuminga

Ya that's what I said the whole time.
Lauri wouldn't be traded.

Over 3200 posts in this thread and Tony Jones is like "ya we were never actually trading Lauri"

Well, at least 2/3 of this board was right according to the poll. That is pretty good for us.
To be fair this poll was posted before the media rumors started. Would have been interesting to see what the results would have been if I posted the day it all really picked up and HH was claiming it would happen (before reversing and saying he always knew it wouldn't happen)

I was listening the newest Jazz podcast and Danny was saying he thinks Lauri still isn't too close for how good he think he can be. If it's not only marketing talk, its no wonder the prize asked was massive. And when you look at it... Even minor improvements with playmaking off the bounce/double teams and improved mid-range game, he's on his way becoming all NBA.

In conclusion: if Lauri takes leaps in some key part of his offensive game, I don't think there's a realistic package that anyone will offer to please Danny. In that case, it would need lottery pick(s) for 26 and close of all star tier player younger than Lauri to move him

I mean, just think of it this way: Who is the best player Lauri has ever played with?

You can argue it's Mike Conley (also could be an argument for Sexton this past year). He's played with more "talented" players (Garland/Mobley/LaVine) but none of those guys were near their primes.

The leap for Lauri will just be playing with better players. It's part of the reason I'm not 100% down with the tank. I really hope, if they tank, it's just a one year thing and they do a hard reverse despite Dybantsa/Boozer being there. Hopefully they use the 2026 class being strong as a way to make upgrades to the roster with others looking to tank for those players.

I think if we land a top prospect in 2025 then 2026 tank is gonna be almost completely off the board.

I mean, they can always trade Lauri. I'm sure that will be a huge talking point next off-season, especially if we arent in the range of whatever people believe a star option is available.

Trading Lauri after landing a top prospect? That would be very puzzling.

Lauri made improvement as a passer, but I don't think he'll ever be a ball handler. I expect him to make incremental improvements, but I'm not expecting a leap.

Fingers crossed.

Plus I think if we get The Guy in 2025 then we see Danny become a buyer with our assets and start to really build quickly around Lauri, sexton, The Guy and the rest of the roster.

Gotta tank hard this season
