Jazz Sign Patty Mills

Jazz starting 5 should be next
PG Mills,
SG George,
SF Williams,
PF Markkanen
C Kessler.

Mills was good in Olympics so he and Lauri would be great duo.
I wouldn't be surprised if / when Lauri has once again allstar season
if he and Mills get their pick'n roll running smoothly like Conley and Markkanen did then that might cost Jazz the tanking to Cooper Flagg.

And no one thought Simone was going to be a trade deadline player last off-season... And again, a lot of people on the forum thought KO/Ochai were legitimately bad during the season and no one saw the Jazz being able to get a first rounder for them.

The Jazz will try to do a fire sale of the vets they don't view as long term pieces. That's going to happen. Will they be successful? Remains to be seen. A lot can happen. An expiring piece on a contender might have a season ending injury and suddenly someone is interested in Jordan Clarkson if he's having a solid season.
In order for him to hit 3’s on an average clip he’d have to stop being JC, and be more selective
Collier right now is our backup point guard. There is a good chance he's not ready for that yet.
not ready to tank, are we trying to win??

Your joking right?

Patty was actually terrible in our warmup and early round games. He might go off once a month but I think that’s all he has left.

Just a great locker room signing. He’s been the heart and soul of the Boomers for a decade

Maybe Jazz still not sure they have a true PG on team and brought Mills in to show how it's done
But I think others have mentioned that also so nevermind :) :) :) :) :)

I mean he hasnt made all that much money compared to other players in his era. Think the biggest single year he has had was like 12 million.

Yeah doesn't strike me as the sort of bloke whos blown it all either tho. He's made 82 million career, won a ring, he's an incredibly popular figure here I can see him having a second career in politics if he wants it. I can also see him owning an expansion franchise in the NBL, he's from Canberra and Canberra currently doesn't have an NBL team.

Well if he wants to own a team, every million helps. Just would be insane to turn down a 7 figure paycheck when it's likely going to be the last 7 figure paycheck of your life.

Signing at this stage of the offseason with a team that has no aspirations of winning confirms this is his late NBA contract.

Interesting. I would assume they are going to for sure sign him.... So does that mean a potential trade in the works?
It could, or it could mean that they're 100% sure he has no offers from teams trying to win and they're just preserving any and all flexibility as long as possible again like they've done a couple of other times this offseason.

I think the 3.3 mil for one year is the rock bottom salary you can offer a ten year veteran
So it's maybe the best Mills can get right now

I'm not sure. I mean it could mean they have a salary dump with that spot in the works but don't have to cut down to 15 until the season.
