Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I think we harp on shooting a little too much. It’s the one thing that is easiest to work on as you get older if you have good fundamentals and mechanics in place.

Queen strikes me as Demarcus Cousins-like in terms of general style, can’t speak to the general quality or transferability.

On the contrary. Shooting isn't talked about enough.

By far the most important offensive skill in the modern NBA, and the hardest to become good at if you're still bad in college. The more you improve technically in the League, the less space and time you have to shoot, as you start to get more defensive attention.

There's a reason most NBA players never seem to miss in warmups. They have to be almost automatic with no pressure, to be just OK when the pressure is on.

I went to AKs first summer league game. I recall being blown away by his feel for the game. He was throwing no look passes. It was so easy for him. AK was hand cuffed by being too early by a generation. In the modern game he would have been awesome. I think I’d rather have AK than Flagg.

You guys buy what Tony is saying about it not mattering? Harper is going to sign with a big agency and I presume it will really piss them off which in turn will have downstream effects.

that game/experience is still one of the most amazing and memorable things i've ever seen as a jazz fan. as you say, his feel and the ease and dominance he displayed were mind boggling. i couldn't believe what i was seeing.

problem is, Flagg is more like a poor man's AK in terms of all the defensive playmaking and as a passer. and he will need to improve to even become as good a shooter as AK. if there is a defensive playmaker who resembles AK in cbb right now, it's Quaintance.

For a guy as good as Harper, you'd draft him even if he doesn't want to come to Utah. Detroit and Charlotte deal with this all the time. He'd still be playing to establish himself in the league and to earn a max deal on his 2nd contract. You just wouldn't expect him to sign a 3rd contract if his circle is trying to push him out of Utah.

I'm not sure how excited Exum was about being drafted by Utah.
