Should we bring in Stockton to mentor Collier?

Should we bring in Stockton to mentor Collier?

  • Yes - it would help tremendously

  • Nah - it would be useless

  • DWill is a more similar PG - bring him instead

I like the idea of former All Stars hanging around with the team. Would be cool if Stockton would meet the team for dinner on the road or something.

Sure but Stockton wouldn't do it.

Wasnt he helping with DWill at one point? Or was that Trey Burke?
I don't know. Maybe he did and I'm wrong. Just seems like he likes to be really private

Stock spent time with D Will. My memory is that D Will went to him at one point and Stock also came to SLC. However, I can imagine Stock being quite turned off by the current Jazz approach to things. Hard for me to imagine he and Malone or Sloan being part of the kind of thing this current regime is doing.

What kind of thing is this regime doing?

Stockton owned a gym in Spokane (The Warehouse) and still has connections to it. Still plays with Zag players regularly.

If Collier asked to come play in the summer I think Stockton would be happy to have him join. He is very private, but supports basketball.

He spent time with DWill. He most certainly would. He loves basketball and loves the jazz

He’s private, but loves basketball. He’s been to jazz games sporadically

The jazz put them together. Stockton was gracious and doing so they got together more than once.

If the jazz asked him to come on as an assistant coach he most certainly would turn it down, but if they asked him to mentor Collier he’d be overjoyed to help out. He spends a ton of time mentoring current and former zags players.

He’s not as private in retired life as he was as a player. He just hated being famous. He seems less guarded in that way these days.

Kinda surprised at the poll results so far.

Didn't know there are so many Stockton haters on this board.

*sad face*

No-one has played 90s basketball for 20 years. I'm terms of developing a pro attitude etc, I'm sure Patty was just as helpful. And much more relatable. So, no.
This. I'm not sure you should bring in consultants from an era when step back 3s were considered "reckless basketball".
