Should we bring in Stockton to mentor Collier?

  • Yes - it would help tremendously

  • Nah - it would be useless

They werent marginal in the slightest. Neither had a chance at the NBA.
David actually did 10 days for Sacramento in 2015 and finished the 2018 season on the roster for the Jazz, so he was definitely marginal. He didn't look like he didn't belong and actually set records in the development league. Not at all starter material, but exactly as I said, marginal. Michael, as noted never did more in the NBA then summer league, though he was very good, just not quite there to punch his way into the league.

Marginal is suggesting they could play in the NBA. Stockton getting 6 games of garbage time minutes and never being asked to play a meaningful minute is not marginal.

He literally played in the NBA, so you can make up whatever definition you want, but a player who spent time in the NBA but didn't stick, but might of with the right team/circumstances meets my definition just fine.

He literally never played a meaningful minute. So a team put him in a game at the end of the season because they want to lose, saw him play, and were like "Nah son, you suck"

Not always the greatest are the best at mentoring or teaching. I'm not sure about Stock skills in that regard, but he doesn't seem to be into it.
He was an assistant coach at Montana State for a year, while his daughter was on the team. When she left, so did he. I agree, it seems like he doesn't have a real drive to do it.

Yep, both were marginal NBA players (kinda surprised Michael didn't get anything more than a summer league in the NBA,) but solid pros in lesser leagues.

Dude little Stock couldn't cut it here as a back up point guard, so no, he's not a marginal NBA talent.
