How do you think this Trump presidency will play out in the end? How will it come to an end? Will it ever come to an end? How devastating will the damage caused be in the long run?

Poll included, choose up to your top 2 options, to get a better spread on opinions on this.

Add your comments. What did I miss? What else could happen? Does it frighten you, or do you feel everything will be fine in the long run?

That's a really tough one.
I chose #1 but if you combined the impeach one and the one in which he dies then I would hand picked that one but just barely.

If I was given a bunch of money and told that I only get the money if I bet on whether trump makes it to the end of his term then I would bet he doesn't.

I think he either dies of natural causes, gets assassinated, or gets impeached.

I was actually thinking about this last night when I went to bed, there is no way he leaves office voluntarily, none. He tried to launch a coup when he lost the election, there is no way he leaves now. The midterms will be interesting I expect all sorts of shenanigans. I think the real problem with Trump 2.0 is that the people around the President this time are from the far right proper. I think there is a substantial number of people right now working within the Whitehouse that are openly hostile to democracy and the constitution. I don't think that's ever been the case before.

Trump will do whatever it takes to hold onto power. As a malignant narcissist he'd burn it all down before ceding power, just as he attempted on Jan. 6. Now he's in a much better position, especially with his ICE thugs. I think our only way out is if those arteries finally say "no mas".

I think there’s a very good chance republicans set themselves to be in power for a long term. Even if they lose the House, it’s not like Democrats will be able to pass anything due to the Senate. And the Supreme Court keeps the GOP in power until voters get bored again and fart a new Republican President who demagogues against immigrants and brainwashes enough Americans with Fox News and social media to give them power again. Just look at utah. No one likes Mike Lee. But no matter how bad he is, he’s never going to lose against someone with a D by their name. The only way he loses is in a primary. Hence, why he’s always competing to outextreme his trumpy right flank. This happens across all red states now.

This is why authoritarians are difficult to dislodge from power. See Russia, Hungary, turkey, China, Israel, etc etc etc. Americans have had a taste of authoritarianism and many sadly, like it more than multicultural democracy. We’re going to need a Poland like surge in the rejection of the GOP. But that isn’t possible in America due to billionaires keeping people scared of the browns, trans swimmers and socialism, the Christian right that has melded its entire identity into Republican politics, and social media algorithms that rely on keeping people angry at each other (Republican politics). And the owners of these social media companies can make damn good money by keeping these algorithms in place and hitching themselves with the mafia like gop. Why not? It’s way more profitable than helping Dems who might dare regulate your industry or tax you a little bit more.

I think the best way to end the Trump era at this point is to have a massive downturn in our economy. Maybe it would snap the cult members out of their brainwashing.
I wouldn't say "best" way since that would suck for all of us, but I agree that its the "most likely" way.

Best way would be if congress would impeach and remove him from office today.

Best would be an "A Few Good Men" style breakdown during a press conference where he just spews the dirty facts about how much he hates America, his own supporters, minorities, poor people, fat people (other than himself), ugly people (other than himself), women, and the homeless. Then he explains in even greater detail that he can shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave, or send the National Guard into LA, or DC, and take over local law enforcement with federal military. Then as soon as he is done with his tirade he drops dead of a heart attack, stroke, aneurism and ***** his pants.

I like your style. But in terms of future MAGA idiocy a stark implosion of our economy might have a more smothering effect.

But I would so enjoy having video of Trump stroking out. I could watch it anytime I am feeling down. Combo in a heart attack, an aneurism, and loud visible pant ******** and you'd have a real banger to pop on anytime you needed a bit of a chuckle. Bonus if Melania is there and as he begs for help she refuses to touch him because he's covered in his own ****.

It is so enjoyable to see Newsom copy how Trump acts and have Trump supporters attack him for behaving badly.

Like do you guys get the ****ing joke? He's acting like Trump. If you don't like it tell Trump to mind his ****ing manners that his worthless parents never taught him. Trump's mom was a failure as a mother because she raised one of the most vile and disgusting humans to ever walk the Earth. Shame on Trump's parents, they basically raised a Joffrey Baratheon.

He could do exactly this capped off by how much he loves raping 12 year old girls with details about every time he's done exactly that, and if he doesn't die at the end, which of course would be best case for those of us with decency, then his cult will just look the other way and find something else to distract them, like how much they hate having to say "she/her" to their neighbor's son-turned-daughter, which is obviously so much worse than anything Dear Leader Trump could ever do. After all, he is saving us from the endless evils of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Just as Jesus would do.
