Eh, I could not care less about establishing black and white definition of what constitutes a tank.
My point was just to say that I am losing interest to the Jazz, but it is not tied to the Jazz tanking or the reasons listed above. It's a larger issue with the NBA product as a whole: the 82 game season does not matter. My day to day interest has more to do with "does this game matter" and less to do with "are the Jazz winning these games".
I, in turn, care about definitions. Unless we're clear about what we mean by tanking, there's no prospect for a productive and critical discussion of it. I'll grant that tanking has probably existed in one form or another over the years, but that's irrelevant to the current discussion around the Jazz, which has executed (poorly so far) a quite distinct and quite extreme version of tanking.
But, this'll be something else we disagree about.
One thing we can agree on is enthusiasm for the EPL. I used to be a split Tottenham and Liverpool fan, but when they played each other for the Champions League final a few years ago, I felt I had to pick one, so I went all in on Liverpool. When Son left Tottenham, he was the last link to the team I enjoyed watching and rooting for.
However, Liverpool has become the thing I've long disliked about European soccer: a financial behemoth that outspends everyone to stockpile talent, a la Man City, PSG, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid/Barcelona. The one thing that annoys me most about European soccer is the competitive imbalance, where the same high-spending teams consistently win year after year. At least it looks like Man City's era of dominance is over...I hope. I used to root against Man U similarly, but now I kind of feel sorry for them for how pathetic they've become.
