Keyonte or Walter Clayton Jr, who has the better career?

I went with Walt because his aptitude for the game and his effort will beat out any size/athleticism disadvantage. As Thurl always says about him, "cool, calm, collected". Also he's proven. His clutch play led his team to a national championship, I think people might gloss over that fact a bit because he's an undersized guard.

Keyonte is pretty awesome but his effort and mental toughness have been questionable at times.
Ya but keyonte has been cool, calm and collected this season and his mental toughness has been awesome so far.
I think he has matured a lot and is just getting better. As weird as it sounds, keyonte is still younger than Walt.

Compared to Walt Keyonte was in a very different situation development-wise. And it is not just because Walt played one more season. WCJ got to play in a structured basketball environment for a good team were every game mattered and everyone cared about the wins... while Keyonte spent two years on the team actively trying to lose games. Keyonte has not played a single game that mattered in the last two years. That really affects young players and I am sure Keyonte was not the only one affected.

I voted Walt as a homer but I actually think it’ll be Keyonte.

Not 100% convinced Key has a much higher ceiling. If Walt reaches his potential as a shooter he could be one of the best in the game.

If Walt were to become a player who could use a screen at 26 feet out, and then shoot threes off-the-dribble at a 40+% clip (at volume) OR make the right pass, then it's pretty hard to argue against that career trajectory. If he becomes the kind of shooter who has to be respected when he's off-ball and receiving a pick from 26 feet out, then it's impossible to argue against that career trajectory.

Early signs are all positive, IMO.

It would be really funny if Collier comes in with a much improved jumper and takes the PG spot for good.

I mean, I don't really expect it to happen but he exists and he is the best passer by far. And there were cases when young players markedly improved their shooting in their second year.

Best passer by far? Man you have some weird takes.

I would say that Collier is the best at breaking down defenses, putting pressure on the rim, which opens up passing lanes.

I think the Keyonte is the best actual passer, as far as capable of making specific passes.

It's really way too early to say what Walt is good and bad at.
Agreed.

From what I saw Collier is extremely fast to recognize when any teammate gains some space from his defender for just a second - and Collier immediately shoots a quick pass to him just in time. That is how he gets a lot of his assists. Collier can effortlessly monitor several players while dribbling or attacking. Keyonte takes a bit more time to process things, although his long passes are obviously superb.
