Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Yeah, AJ’s not touching my top 2 with those stocks numbers. If this holds I would have to Wilson ahead of him as well.

He looks great in clips though, lighting fast first step. Don’t want to be too harsh on him.
As a BYU guy that watches every minute, AJ has really struggled at the beginning of every game with the different schemes. But the end of the games he figures it out. So I wonder if the end of the season he will have improved the mental part of the game.

Wilson is already #2 on my big board. His athleticism will translate and he plays with heart. I think he can learn to be a league average shooter but will be reluctant maybe.

I have noticed this also honestly team are coming in scheming against him. No one is afraid sanders is going to beat them.

And then they find out.

AJ is averaging 19 points and 6.4 rebounds in 30 minutes per game. Shooting 52.3% from the field and 37.5% from three.

Part of the problem for him statistically to blow people away is that he isn't being force fed touches/volume. They really spread the ball around on BYU and he is buying in to that playstyle.
Both Richie Saunders and Rob Wright play more minutes per game than AJ and take more shots per game than AJ. Richie averages 20 points per game, AJ 19, and Wright 17.3.

With his efficiency AJ could easily be averaging 26 points per game or something and having some 30 point games if he were getting more minutes and volume.

One other factor is that BYU scheduled a very ambitious and tough out of conference schedule to get prepared for their brutal conference schedule and NCAA tournament run. They were willing to sacrifice some losses in order to gain that in game tough environment experience and only ended up losing 1 game on the east coast to #4 ranked UCONN by 2 points.

Its going as planned for AJ and BYU. And hell, I'm hoping he drops a bit as I'm hoping the jazz can draft him and they are unlikely to get a top 3 pick imo so I hope he falls to the jazz.

Per game averages might mean something to some, but I left that behind a long time ago. Biggest points of concern for AJ are is 3Pr and low stocks/min. I don’t think AJ’s per game stats are why he’s not keeping pace.
