ICE Shooting in Minnesota

One thing is for sure. If the drivers intention was to murder agents then the vehicle would not have driven to the right.

That is not to say that the shooting wasn't justified or in self defense. I'm simply saying that's its pretty obvious that the driver wasn't out to kill anyone but were trying to escape instead.

If you are going to try to kill someone with a vehicle then you will probably steer the vehicle in the direction of the person you intend to kill.

A domestic forever war.

From the start of the second Donald Trump administration, ICE has been at the heart of the development of an authoritarian state in America, and critical to the unfolding of what I called a “domestic forever war” last June. The murder by an ICE agent of Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three, in Minneapolis is a sign of how far ideological fanaticism has spread among ICE agents, who have been socialized to see anyone as a potential enemy of the state to be treated with violence.

Authoritarians do not accept the idea of peaceful assembly or the validity of legal observers (this was Good’s role, according to city leaders), or monitors of their activity. These are all concepts that belong to democratic notions of the law and public space —to a worldview that sees people as having rights. The Trump administration has rejected all of this in favor of an authoritarian framework.

Add in the ceaseless efforts of Trump and his allies to dehumanize all those who don’t agree with them —Trump stated in October that “we have to take care of this little gnat that’s on our shoulder” referring to the Democrats— and ICE’s own culture of seeing all protesters and observers of their actions as an enemy to vanquish. And so we arrive at a debased mentality that refuses to recognize the humanity of others. This is why Good was denied medical assistance from a physician who observed the scene and came forth to help.

Good could not be seen as a life worth saving.

This is a blunt statement, but it is important to understand what we are dealing with. This is where dehumanization leads. It starts with those who are the targets of many autocrats, such as non-Whites, immigrants, Muslims, and members of the LGBTQ community, and extends in time to anyone who does not accept having their rights taken away and their free speech silenced.

Relevant DOJ policy, https://www.justice.gov/jm/1-16000-department-justice-policy-use-force:

“Firearms may not be discharged solely to disable moving vehicles. Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless: (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means other than the vehicle; or (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle. Firearms may not be discharged from a moving vehicle except in exigent circumstances. In these situations, an officer must have an articulable reason for this use of deadly force.”

Considering he successfully moved out of the way of the vehicle... he clearly had another objectively reasonable means of defense.

Traffic enforcement is also 110% outside of ICEs purview and they should've never been involved with her in the first place.

Incompetent 'officers' parading our streets while heavily armed, this is going to continue happening.

She was a dangerous new breed of terrorist who uses her face to a catch bullets from fat fascists.

Get with the Presidents program or you will stay on the list.

And it will happen without any form of accountability. The FBI is "investigating" the shooting, now you're the FBI investigator, the President and Vice-President have called it a good shooting. If you indicted this murderer, who is without doubt, one of the Presidents men, what sort of career do you think you are going to have in the FBI afterwards?

Honestly you'd have a better chance of a future in the FBI if you were caught ****ing Melania Trump up the arse in the oval office.

Technically if we are saying that the ICE agent shot her in self defense because he was scared for his life then couldn't we also say that the driver tried to run over the ICE agent in self defense because she was scared for her life when masked dudes with guns tried to force their way into her car?

Plot twist: the ICE agent who shot the woman driver was involved in another incident in Minnesota this past summer.
He told a driver to exit the vehicle and the driver refused so he broke the back window and was reaching inside the car and the car drove off injuring the ice agent.

It is essentially standard procedure that if you are told to exit your vehicle and you do not the police will break your window(s) and pull you out.

Supreme Court case Pennsylvania Vs Mimms established that the police can remove you from your vehicle for officer safety (almost) whenever they want. Funny enough they can also force you to stay in your vehicle for officer safety.

In the U.S. the priority that police go home safe and sound and that they can harm the general public to make sure that happens has been firmly established.

Here is a couple hours of police smashing windows compilation. The people being abused by police are sovcits so it's pretty funny, but they can do this to anyone.
