Cody is usually tasked with defending the best offensive player every game, regarding of the position. Ant, SGA, AD for several possessions. Hardy obviously considers him to be the best and most versatile defender on the team.

The metrics won’t say it because he’s playing a lot of his minutes with flip and Love at center but to anyone who watches the game he’s far and away our best defender I thought it was very evident tonight in the spurs game where he forced a lot of misses and pass outs

Feel like Cody is the kind of player you can lock into a long term extension at a reasonable rate as a value play.
Maybe he has another so-so Year 3, but the improvements are there and you get him to sign a 32/4 extension.
