Kanter messing with Big Al

Thanks for posting. They do seem to be working well off the court together. Jefferson was very complimentary of "Big Turkey".

That's smth hard to find in teams like the one beaten before the last one. Watched another interview with Kanter in which the reporter told him the nickname that CJ came up with: Up and Undertaker. Cool one but I hope it won't identify his play for his whole career!

i expect him to become a 14-15 ppg and 12-13 rpg type of a player... don't see him to ever become a 20+ ppg type of a player...

I can easily see him 20+ ppg as long as he gets his midrange back. His inside scoring and decent ft shooting is already there and given enough time, he'll get to 10-15 ppg level. But midrange is a great option to score for bigmen since many center defenders ***** out to defend the opponent too close to the arc being afraid of getting crossed over or loosing the cutter.

I was critical of Big Al for hazing Turkey, because the hazing corresponded with a Kanter struggling I laid some blame without knowing the facts. Ron Boone was talking about how Big Al has gone out of his way to work with Kanter and Favors on post moves, foot work and defense. Ron said that Big Al would show the guys something and then make them do it until they got it right. Ron said that he could see where both Kanter and Favors were using what Al taught them in the games and it made them better.

First of all I gotta give some rep to Big Al for being big enough to teach the guys that will probably replace him. Second, I gotta wonder if the Jazz shouldn't keep a guy who has done everything asked of him, who is learning new skills and tutoring the youngsters. And finally somebody needs to ask where is the big man coach the Jazz hired, and why isn't he teaching Favors/Kanter?

The up and under is one of the best moves you can make or master in the post. The threat alone opens up so many easier counter-moves. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that it is an especially intensive iso/tunnel vision move.
